Knicks fans are like that girl from Scream. She thinks the killer is dead and everything's fine and she can go off to college. But the in Scream 2, guess what? The Murderer is back, and he's killing off all of her friends.
In 2008 The Knicks went off to College. They brought in Olympic Gold medal coach Mike D'Antoni, and an old warrior of a GM in Donnie Walsh. As we all know Donnie had a plan. A plan to get under the cap, get a superstar, and begin rebuilding.
The New York Knicks look much improved over the past two years. Regardless of our 3-3 record things are looking up. Players are playing like they buy into what D’antoni is selling; however, we still look lost and sloppy at times. We are missing some key things on our team.
The Knicks have started this hopeful playoff season 1-2. It is too early to tell what this currently means but our loses did come from some power house teams. The good thing to take from these games is we never quit. Our guys kept it at 100% for every minute. Now, the question is if we keep loosing, how long will this keep up? Right now, everything is new and fresh. We have an overhauled roster with a brand new superstar player. How long can D’antoni keep pushing these guys to believe in what we can accomplish?
Tonight seems like just another game for the hapless Knicks, but it is not. Tonight the Phoenix Suns come to town. Coach D’Antoni’s former team has changed but is still winning without him. The Suns are leading the west with a 14-3 record, but more importantly may have a key piece to the Knicks future.
"I'm just talking as a fan and New Yorker who grew up loving the Knicks: Why would I give you my money to watch them? This is atrocious. Guys coming down court, just raising up 3-pointers from anywhere. The coaching is horrible. What kind of coaching is this?
