After the incident AD said "I witnessed my wife being threatened by a man that I later learned to be intoxicated. I saw him touch her and I know I should not have acted the way I did, but I would have felt terrible if I didn't react. There was no time to call security. It happened so quickly."Davis didn't go there to beat anyone or to throw elbows, he just went to check if his family is protected, and still the league punishes him with 5 games of suspension.

A couple of years is a long time to wait, but at $33 million over the cap, the Knicks did not have much choice. Knicks tickets for this next season will get to see D'Antoni teach his team to play basketball again. Whether or not fans blame Isiah Thomas for the current state of one of the most recognizable names in basketball no longer matters. Let the healing process begin.

Dear Mr. Dolan Hey Jim, I never heard back from you on my last idea of doing the roster buyouts. I assume it is because you are so busy with your band and with not dealing with the Larry Brown situation. Since you do not want to pursue the buyout strategy that I outlined in my last blog, I thought I would come back with another alternative.

James, 7-1 272lb, is a 5 year big man. Previous to joining the Knickerbockers he has brought his talent to Sacramento and to Seattle, where he played 4 years. In 80 games last year, with the Sonics, he averaged 4.9 ppg 3.5 rpg and 1.2 bpg. Isiah hopes that more minutes will bring out the true star he sees in Jerome James...“What blew me away about him is that in the games where he managed to play extended minutes on the floor, 25 or 30, he was putting up extremely good numbers,” said Thomas.

This was the first game I didn’t want to watch from the beginning. It looks like I wasn’t too inspired on this one. Madison Square Garden was the scene of one of the most horrible incidents ever.

It is time for Dolan to acknowledge reality, and the truth is that Isiah does not have a plan. Isiah was a great player, one of the best, but that does not automatically make him a great GM. We remember him as a player and we keep hoping that translates into wizardry in the front office - it ain't happening.

This year's contest wil be remembered for the three 50s and the first ever tie-braker in the Slam Dunk history. Both Robinson and Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala had a 94 in their last round. Robinson missed most of his dunk attempts but the rules allow the competitors to keep trying untill they complete the dunk. That is why Nate Robinson needed 14 tries in the final round before getting a 47 for his 15th. Iguodala needed only two attepmts but he got a 46 from the judges, which made Nate the new Slam Dunk Champion.

Jalen played in NBA since 1994-1995 and has a career of 14.7 ppg. Rose played for Denver, Indiana, Chicago and Toronto and still has 2 years of contract. This season he's making $15.7 million, with an option at $16.9 million next season. The Knicks will also receive a first round draft pick, which will be Denver's, giving New York two first round picks as they also have San Antonio's.

Larry Brown has had one of his worst records with the Knicks, winning only 23 out of 82 games in 2005-2006, tying the Knicks franchise for their worst record ever from his first season.

Jerome Williams played 79 games for the Knicks in 2004-2005 averaging 3.6 RPG, 4.5 PPG and 15.3 minutes. He arrived in New York last july with Jamal Crwaford in a six player sign-and-trade deal, a trade that sent Othella Harrington, Frank Williams, Dikembe Mutombo and Cezary Trybanski away.

The success of the New York Knicks will heavily rely upon three players, Eddy Curry, Channing Frye and Jared Jeffries. We have yet to see the full potential of these three players, yet Curry has been referred to as the corner stone of the franchise on several occasions. Frye had a great rookie season and a not so good second season and Jeffries was brought in specifically to fill the Knicks defensive void.

His successful background proves that he is a very good coach, however, he may not be the right coach for this team. There is no denying that Larry Brown is a great coach. Those who think he is awful do not know their basketball. All you have to do is look at his record and listen to those whose careers he has great ly influenced (see Greg Popovich and Chauncey Billups).

In NBA he played for Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks, appearing in a total of 84 games with an average of 2.2 points and 1.6 assists.

Steve Francis came to New York with a huge salary, in the next three years totalizing an amount of almost $49,000,000 making him along with Stephon Marbury the highest-paid backcourt duo from the NBA. Already with the highest payrol in the league (now at $120 million and the second worst record in history 15-37), the Knicks will be next year at $130,000,000, unless some more trades happen, most likely involving Jamal Crawford or Quentin Richardson for clearing cap space.

Balkman, is a 6-8 small forward from South Carolina, being described by Isiah Thomas as an “unique talent” and compared to Dennis Rodman and Ron Artest. He is also said to be a great defensive player, as he was named Most Valuable Player of the 2006 Postseason NIT and led hist team in rebounding (6.3 rpg) in 2005/06. Renaldo said during workouts last month that it would be a dream come true, to be coached by Larry Brown. Looks like he's going to keep on dreaming.

Stephon's donation is the greatest so far. Kobe Bryant donated last week $100,000. Allan Houston was also present at the press conference but he was much sober. "We enjoy a lot of liberties in this country, and we live very confortable, all of us, but if you look arround the world that people don't have and if we can look at it that way and say We're all one family, and everyone should do something.(...) That's why we're here."

Season is just around the corner! Finally some basketball. There should be some last minute trade buzz around the league in coming weeks. The Knicks have to be among those teams most talked about they have a ton of players. Thank god for preseason basketball. Is it just me or was anyone else getting tired of all the off court issues. I don't have much to say about those issues except that they are office related. I'm a basketball fan. I just can't wait for the focus to switch back to basketball. I am not going to concern myself with the non basketball related business operations of MSG.

Acquiring Garnett, Martin, O’Neal & A.I. will destroy the Knicks for years to come. Trading for any of these guys is a bad idea. It has been a dream of NY fans to get a franchise player the likes of Chris Webber in his glory days or Garnett now. But the Knicks would virtually have to trade all of their few assets to get one of these guys who are doing little to help their teams succeed.

The lucky teams were Milwaukee Bucks who got the first pick and Atlanta Hawks with the second one, but let's focus on what the Knicks got and see what happened in the past years with the 8th pick. In 2004 the Toronto Raptors selected with their 8th pick Rafael Araujo. Araujo (C) played 59 games in 2004-2005 and had an average of 3.3 ppg and 3.1 rpg. Of course, Rafael was just a backup for Chris Bosh, their real center. In 2003 Milwaukee Bucks selected TJ Ford. Here's something interesting.

If it appears that the Knicks are trying to budget themselves, then management must have gotten a good look at what the rest of New York has seen; the never ending pockets of James Dolan. Lets take a look at the checkbook that never ends.

The good news is that he needs no surgery, but he will miss the rest of the season. He will be back though for the Las Vegas Summer League in July, the official site reported.Frye's comments on all these were: "I feel good. It could have been a lot worse. I'll be OK."The rookie had started 14 times this season for the Knicks and was averaging 12.9 ppg and 5.9 rpg, he was .825 from the free throw line and his field goal percentage was of .477
Butler came to New York 2 years ago when coach/GM Isiah Thomas uncovered him in the CBA. Last season, he played in 55 games in a Knick uniform and averaged 5.3 PPG and 3.3 RPG.Remaining in New York, he would play after Eddy Curry and Jerome James, (unless James is traded until then) although he is considered better and played more minutes under Brown than Jerome.

However this move costs the Knicks between $17 and $20 million as Shandon's contract worths $24 million for the next three seasons. Shandon Anderson was the last contract of the Layden era and the buyout could make room for Eddie Robinson, Bulls' former swingman.According to NY Daily News, Miami, Denver, Golden State, Houston and Chicago all expressed interest for Anderson.

People speculate the other teams backed out due to his health, he suffers from Heart Arrhythmia, but Paxson admits it was just the best movement for the progression of his team. The deal has Forward's Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney, Guard Jermaine Jackson (resigned) and a 2006 first round pick going to Chicago for Eddy and veteran F/C Antonio Davis (possibly a draft pick too). Curry will sign a 5 year deal with the first priced at 10 million and Antonio Davis' 13.9 million dollar contract will expire after this season.

Knicks looking good after two preseason wins over Philadelphia (101-92) and Maccabi Tel Aviv(112-85). In both wins the Knicks performed well. With contributions from the starters and the bench, as well as some valuable contributions from the rookies. But these wins didn't come against the "NBA elite" They came against a struggling NBA team and against a foreign team. Yes they crushed Tel Aviv, and that was bound to happen. The Knicks are an NBA team.

Isiah plants story that he is really a great GM and throws Larry under a bus. Let the Games Begin! It has been relatively quiet since the Knicks season ended. The other day I read an article in the most recent ESPN magazine entitled “Isiah Thomas is a better GM than you think. No Really”. This morning I wake up to an article in the daily news “Knicks buying out Larry?” The article states that Dolan is upset over Brown’s record and his public criticism of his players. The article further states that Isiah may succeed him as coach.

The New York Knicks president Isiah Thomas, used the no 8 pick to select center Channing Frye from the university of California - a good move, the center position being now taken care of. Frye is a four-year starter and with his 6-11 height it shouldn't be too hard for him to win his spot in the starting line-up on a team that is missing big men. "Tonight was a great night for our organization and for our fans," Knicks GM said. "We added four quality players to our roster."

Past sins are likely to cost us Jackie Butler. In the past money was never a problem, the Knicks made so many stupid deals that it will now cost us one deal we should make. I don't know how many of you out there are Jackie Butler fans, but by the end of last year, he was the Knicks best center. He is only 21, has a lot of upside, and if he were in this past years draft he would have been among the top 5 picks.

Williams, had took over last year too, when coach Don Chaney was fired and on his only game he gain a victory in front of Orlando Magic 120-110 at Madison Square Garden. I have not written in quite a while, things have gotten so bad that even the most die hard NYK fan such as myself can not stand to watch his beloved team anymore. So what will it take to MEANINGFULLY change the current state of affairs in NY?

I know it's a stretch but he just might. This might be a real stretch, but Jim Dolan may actually have his own plan. Yes I know this is a stretch because he: **Stood by Scott Layden for so long. **Has allowed Isiah to go unchecked while he has destroyed this team, making horrible trades taking on the wrong players giving away our draft picks -- putting us in cap hell. **Horribly handling the Larry Brown situation.

The Knicks have now strenghten the Point Guard position, Stephon Marbury - the starting PG - having now a backup in rookie Robby. The addition of a new SG (Quentin Richardson) may be a little strange, New York already having 2 other players on the same position, Jamal Crawford and Allan Houston the last one missing almost the whole 2004-05 season because of an arthritis in his left knee. However, Quentin is reported to be a sizzling shooter, just like NY's new PG is, and this could only make us happy. In his 2004/05 season he averaged for Phoenix 14.9 ppg and 4.9 rpg.

What would it cost to get Garnett (a.k.a. "The Big Ticket"). There was talk several months ago that Isiah would go after Garnett this summer. LEt me say up fron that I do not think that is likely. I would assume that Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni are in favor of a complete rebuild, so the release makes most sense. For Knicks that complain that you can get a lot for $20 million, the problem s that then you have to pay those salaries that are bound to be multi-year deals. A clean break cuts $20 million from the payroll for next season and brings the club closer to the salary cap.

Dear Mr. Dolan Since you seem incapable of dealing with the problem that everyone else sees, I am going to offer you two different paths you can take towards fixing the Knicks. Below is the first, my second will follow in another blog.

The bad part is that, James was just a subtitute in his last four seasons for the SuperSonics, the good part is that the guy has size. He will also turn 30 later this year. At 7-1 and 272 pounds, Jerome brings something that New York has missed ever since Nazr Mohammed was traded this february.

A lot of people have thought about this idea over the past week, and I must admit, the way things are going for him, he’s pretty close to becoming an all star this season. Curry has started the 2006/2007 season with the right foot, having 3 games with at least 15 points per game and 2 games of double-doubles.

Who is to blame for this seasons mess? I have seen a lot of comments from many fans who blame Larry and think he is an awful or at least not the right coach for this team. The Knick's season is two months away from debuting and no franchise in the NBA seems to have a wider margin for success and failure at the same time. Will the Knicks who won 23 games last season show up? After Larry Brown pounded this team into the dirt, it isn't hard to imagine a 20-something win season again. But the problem is, no one would have imagined that situation one year ago.
