The Yankees acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and left handed relief pitcher Damaso Marte from the Pirates for four minor leagers. MLB.com has learned that the Yankees will part with talented right-field prospect Jose Tabata, plus three pitchers -- right-handers Ross Ohlendorf and George Kontos, plus left-hander Phil Coke.

I personally liked this move...the Yankees have too much talent in their farm system and they needed a good right handed bat like Nady who is hitting .330 with 13 Hr's and 57 RBI's in 90 games played. And Damaso Marte is 4-0 with a 3.47 ERA in 47 appearences. This fills two needs for the yankees and we finally have a productive left reliever. Marte also is pitching better against right handed batters with a .200 average and .217 average overall.
