I know ever team got their scrubs but

Lin can't handle these lames. We need to free up roster space, these guys are absolute trash, like bottom of the league trash.

PER: 6.1
Basically the next guy without defense and is about 34 years old

PER: 6.3
TS%: 38 (WOW)
Pointless, shot is broken, can't run the pick and roll, isn't fast, defense fell off.

PER: 8.5
Billy is my man, love him, but has no place on this team with JR Smith on the roster now

PER: 13
Minutes played: 1004 (2nd most on the NYK)
Shot is broken 61% FT 20% 3pt shooting...defense is weak. If you're not going to realize his limits now you will realize them later. At best he's a 2012 Richard Jefferson.

Why was Balkman cut? He covers up Amare's weaknesses, Jefferies, Chandler get hurt, who steps in? Balkman posted up a 15 PER and 98 DEF rating (2nd best on the team) playing high all the time. Eh, didn't like that cut especially when Bibby, Douglas, Walker have no purpose here.

I know this is crying over spilled milk, but its truely cringeful to see these guys in action.

Honestly thats all you need, 8-9 men core based team.

If it was up to me, I'll try to get some value out of these guys before the trade deadline, and sign 2 veteran free agents with experience to keep us strong for the playoffs...or maybe I'm just crazy...go Knicks.

Id say Atari STATue's already ready for this list. Id rather have Jeffries at PF, Chandler at C, and use Balkman to rotate off the bench with those two but for whatever reason Antoni cut Balkman instead of Bibby, Douglas, or STATue aka Stouderetire

I have a brilliant trade that I've thought about a while, but don't want to post it in here since I don't want to disrespect the players since I think they all want to be on the team. PM me for it.

so two of those guys don't even get playing time, landry fields is playing WELL, and you want to change things up when we've won 7 of our last 8?

grunwald said the knicks are done making moves.

:teeth:mad:Stouderetire...

Fields has his supporters, but straight up I'd drop his ass ASAP, too -- especially since he has value...need to trade him.

Still hard to believe we treated Fields and Gallo as equals when dealing w/ DEN.

On this team, the 3pt prowess of JR alone makes him superior to Fields. I like Fields being able to back-up Melo at the 3, but that's pretty much all I want out of him.

JR starting the 2, Shumpert as primary backup. Fields and Shumpert both getting action spelling Melo at the 3 when he rests.

Baron's health is key. Shumper just isn't good getting any minutes as our PG right now; he's young and talented enough where I could see him eventually being able to give some minutes there, but right now it's just stunting his growth as a ballin' 2.

I wanna see what we could package Fields, Douglas, and Walker for. Perhaps with Amare.....:bang:

Precisely because they don't get PT. They are expendable.

Landry is playing well, right now. But his 3pt shot is broken. And we have JR now, who possesses the very skills we most need, but which Landry doesn't have.

Look, the guy is a NBA player, but you have to know he isn't legit for us to where he should be starting. 2nd most min on our team? :couto:

And his value his higher than his value is for us.

Check his PER, too. I wouldn't cut him; but I would aggressively seek to trade him, and if we don't, have him carve a niche as primary backup to Melo, and as a spot starter when players need legit rest or are injured.

I think I like Novak as a backup for Melo more then Fields. Fields has a nice all around game...the only purpose i see of keeping him is if Smith wants more money after this season. Then we would still have Fields to fall back on and Im assuming most of the knicks money they have will be going to Lin. Hes the #1 priority

I would love to see Statue get traded for an expiring contract, that'd free up the money to sign Lin, Smith, and then some

Why would you wanna get rid of Fields he's been playing well for the most part he's had like 2 bad games in the past 10, the other guys I agree with but Fields has a bright future as a solid NBA player.

True. Might need Fields if JR bolts. Plus, looks like we may well gotta use our MLE on Lin, so....

I agree, though; I would look to rape the Nets, personally. Humphries (expiring), Morrow, and a 1st for Atari. Morrow would be nice here; reasonable contract, elite 3pt shot and FT shooter. Humphries balls all over Amare's face this season as a PG; and is younger, if we wanted, we'd be able to re-sign him longterm and have the $ to afford JR and then some.

I fear Amare will be rendered even more gimp when Melo returns, and we add his scoring element. Plus, Chandler has had an offensive renaisassance with us, and his P&R and chem with Lin is legit; and will only improve when Melo returns.

Thats all right on point and I like that trade idea too. It wouldnt be too hard to trade Amare even now, theres still probably some gm's that consider him to be an all star type player.

STAT would be a beast on a team where they really lacked someone of his talents. Put him on the Bobcats or the Cavs and he's gonna be going off for 30 all the time just like last year.

Here it's a different story and I get why people bitch on him for his lack of defense at times but it's still way out of control.

The dude averaged nearly 20/10 and nearly .500 shooting over the last 10 games but none of that is really recognized... Only his faults. He has gone through a lot in a short space of (playing) time and I honestly think it's only a matter of time before he brings it all together again, consistently on a night to night basis.

I said it about Shumpert, I said it about Fields, now I'm saying it about STAT. He will be back.

i failed to under stand the meaning of expendable..thanks for clarifying, but still, landry can ONLY get better, a 2nd round pick is playing great!! landry will not chuck like JR does, he willingly moves the ball and attacks the basket, both landry and JR should most definitely be keepers. lets STICK with the chemistry on this team, not get rid of it.

Is there a way that the Knicks could retain both Baron Davis and JR Smith after this season if they contribute to the Knicks going deep into the playoffs?

Honestly thats all you need, 8-9 men core based team.

Your starting lineup above can not make defensive-stops.
Adding JR Smith to take Walker's playingtime does not make us contenders,
it does make Walker expendable. We never shouldve signed Bibby/Davis.
Toney Douglas should get playintime with JR Smith to up his trade value.
Landry Fields is a 2nd season complimentary-player on both sides of the court (Keeper).

Lin's many turnovers late in games had teammates step-up their level of
performance for stops in crunchtime. The Knicks 8 wins were from pure defense.

Your 8-9 man core dont have a backup for Lin or Chandler.
In a regular 82 game season u need 10+ players for injury....in this 66 game season
u need all 12 players while running a 9+ man rotation.

Before Lin Sanity arrived three major things stuck out:
We didnt screen/pick/boxout/or show any signs of help-defense, or a design
offensive play.
Melo & Stat did not play a lick of defense while averaging over 35+ minutes
per in 25 games.
Plus we average 33 attempts from 3-ball shootin per game, with Lin we average
25 attempts from the 3-ball line.

Fields shits on Balkman.

Balkman is a below average basketball player that's made up for his shortcomings with hustle. That's why no coach plays him. He smells.
