JR Smith opts out

Knicks get early bird rights for Lin, Novak and Fields. Lin and Fields sign for 3mil starting salaries for the next year while Novak starts at 2.5mil.

Knicks re-sign Mike Bibby

Knicks trade Toney Douglas and Jerome Jordan to Memphis to move into the late 1st Round.

2012 NBA Draft

1st Round- Henry Sims- The former McDonald's All-American is one of the best passing big men college basketball has seen in a long time. If he can develop some post moves, Sims has the potential to be a nice NBA player. Intriguing prospect to put behind Tyson Chandler. Georgetown has some great NBA players in the league right now. Greg Monroe, Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green are all skilled guys who have bright futures. Sims is an unfinished product but could become a valuable role player behind STAT and Chandler. We need guys like him for our future. Bigs who are skilled and selfless. 6'11 250, Georgetown big man.

2nd Round- Kim English- Another selfless guy who played out of position in college but showed great skill. Limited athleticism but he has range. Ideal 2 Guard off the bench behind Iman Shumpert. I see some H20 in him but ideally I think he becomes an Anthony Morrow type who can go for 30 when hot. The difference between him and Novak is that he can move well off the ball and put the ball on the ground.

Free Agency

Knicks sign Lamar Odom with the Mid-Level Exception.

I know LO has had a rough year but he's gone through a lot. I think coming home would be good for him. We need a legit 6th Man and he's ideal for me. When can put out a line up of CA, STAT, LO and Chandler and not lose any athleticism and destroy teams on the boards. Odom would be nice to have with STAT at the 5 in the 2nd unit because he can handle the ball on the perimeter, pass, shoot and defend.

Knicks sign Jonny Flynn with the 2.5 Bi Annual Exception.

Jonny Flynn is intriguing because he can spell Lin but I dont think we lose much. He can score, dish and defend pretty well but at this point I see him as a back up and spot starter if need be.

Knicks sign Dajuan Summers to a non-guaranteed contract

We need an athletic 3 man behind Carmelo who can defend and knock down the 3 ball. Summers another Georgetown player who understands winning basketball. A low risk most likely low reward signing but we need to fill holes.

Let me just start off with saying this post is extremely unlikely to happen, but a best case scenario for us this offseason looks amazing.

1. Union ruling goes in our favour, enabling us to re-sign Lin, Fields & Novak
2. JR Smith opts in
3. We snag Lamar Odom on our bi-annual
4. Nash Signs for the MLE & Grant Hill follows him for the Vets min (Hill part not unrealistic if we got Nash).
5. Jarred Jeffries back on the Vets min

Starting 5:
Lin
Shumpert (Fields till Shump is back)
Melo
Amare
Chandler

Mob Deep:
Nash
Smith
Hill
Odom
Jeffries

Role Players:
TD - Solid defender, capable shooter
Fields - Hustle/Off ball movement
Novak - Ice cold Sniper
Jorts - Rebounding, defensive big
Jerome Jordan - Project Centre

there is no way Stat will want to stay here as role player off the bench, no way we should keep him here with the salary he has to be a role player... good thing this is just a mock, smh...

1. Knicks management must decide who is the franchise player:
Stoudemire or Anthony?

2. Can Mike Woodson design a playbook to involve Stat & Melo, if not one must go...

3. Which players are valuable as of right now, if we sign & trade anyone of them to bolster some moves must be done...

I feel Stat is NOT the Star here, between Melo & Chandler Knicks FO can build a winner around... Along with a healthy Shumpert and a disciplined JR Smith we could have a solid core... Landry Fields actually has improved his game to compliment Melo, so for just curiosity...

Starting Rotation:
PG - Iman Shumpert (ball handling needs to improve - defense he's lights out)
SG - JR Smith ( has starter potential, but needs to be controlled)
SF - Landry Fields (can play SG, SF, and/or Small PF)
PF - Carmelo Anthony (preferably SF but is capable to play PF)
C - Tyson Chandler

Bench Rotation:
G - Mike Bibby (can play both PG or SG)
G - Patrick Mills (interesting prospect)
G - Draft - 2G (need that future drafted now)
G - Jonny Flynn (not a waste to bring Flynn in)
F - Josh Harrellson (showed promise, gritty player)
F - Lamar Odom (6th Man) - (PF or SF)
F - Steve Novak (3 pt specialist)
F - Jared Jeffries (Defensive Minded)
C - Jerome Jordan (Jury Still out)
C - Draft (purchase 1st round selection)

STAT will be a starter and play starter minutes most of his minutes will be with that line up while Melo runs the other line up

I never said STAT would come off the bench

what is the scouting report on Jordan......I mean he played in Europe and did well...played in the D-league and had some great success.....

Danotnio and Woodson saw zero need or hope for him......

A young 7 footer who has some skill should be worth something......

I'm not sure I thought he was out starting center of the future but maybe he's nothing more than 15 minute guy at best

this whole off season for us depends on the union ruling in our favor. I'll wait on that news before making any speculation. I like everyone's potential lineups tho.
