should we trade our 2011 pick for a 2012 pick?

I've heard this mentioned briefly on some other boards. Thinking being that next years draft is much stronger and there arent many 'ready to go now' typa guys in this draft especially for what our needs are.
Wanna know how you guys feel about it.
I dont believe we should do or we will do that. Donnie doesnt wanna go out this way, giving up the last pick he'll ever make for the NYK. Also, if we do trade it for next year and by some miracle, someone drafted after 17 becomes a real good player, management would have to run and hide and fans would be livid.

No we should not trade our pick. We need too many spots to fill. Plus, possibly getting a decent player on a rookie contract would help a lot financially.

If we trade our pick for a 2012 its solely to go after D12 or CP3...it adds another piece to go along with CB's expiring, Fields and who ever.

I wouldn't be opposed to swapping it for a 2012 pick. It's not like we're looking at anything great sitting here at #17. We might get lucky and get a pretty high pick next season from whoever we deal with.

If we really need cheap players, we can probably buy a late 1st rounder, and could definitely buy a couple of 2nd rounders. Iman Shumpert, anyone?
