So it looks like we might get Jimmer. If that happens what we can do is keep him, or we could Trade him on Draft night to Minny along with another piece and a 2nd rounder, for Rubio. Or if we end up not getting Jimmer, we could just trade whoever we get for Rubio.

Then Trade Balkman to the Craptors for there 2nd round pick, and trade that plus cash for a late 1st round pick to draft Kenneth Faried.

sometime a few days after the NBA Draft:

Fire Mike D'Antoni. Hes a nice coach but his system just doesnt work with this team and wont. Throw money at Jeff Van Gundy. sign him to a 3 year contract.

Offer Ewing money to come back as an assistant.

Also dont pick up Billups's option. Tell him you would LOVE to have him next season but this team is in desperate need of a center and we cant afford to pay him all that money. Tell him you would love to negotiate a new contract in the off season.

Release Balkman

Send Jeff Van Gundy and Donnie Walsh to meet with Deandre Jordan/Marc Gasol/Tyson Chandler Give him a speach about how he can become a cornorstone of a championship team. How hes the missing piece to the Puzzle. how he can grow alongside Amare and Melo and be a huge part of our future. Offer them 8 Million for 4 years.

The Next day have Donnie Walsh call Chauncy Billups and tell him that the team would love to have him back and would love him to be a cornorstone of a championship team. Also to help mentor the youg guards in Rubio/Jimmer and Douglas. Offer him 6 Million for 2 years.

I'm not trying to turn this into another MDA thread, but after leading NY to the playoffs for the 1st time since 04 (where NJ swept us)... It's not right to call for a new coach before at least seeing how NY competes under MDA during the playoffs. Even if we don't make it out of the 1st round, MDA still deserves a chance to do (all of the above during the offseason); which is a chance to upgrade a playoff roster into a serious contender. Our goal was to finially make the playoffs this year.

Why should a new coach deserve two stars in Melo & Amare + upgrades such as Jordan & Faried? when MDA was the one who took this job KNOWING we wouldn't win for two full years (Thomas Cap Hell). This will become his 1st chance during the offseason to improve a playoff roster into a contender. He's earned it.

Land Jordan as a FA & draft Faried & thats a dream offseason. I've been calling for Jordan & Faried since I been here.

C-Jordan / Camby
PF-Amare / Faried
SF-Melo / Batiter
SG-Fields / Walker
PG-Douglas / Carter

On a side note: If you dream of Rubio without first giving MDA a chance to work with him one on one your a damn fool because he's become a great PG in this offensive system.

You give MDA Rickey to run the point, two offensive superstars in Melo & Amare + DeAndre (an athletic Center) & our offense becomes better than any PHX offense the West ever seen under MDA & our Knicks offense becomes next to impossible to stop.

D'Antoni needs a BIG who can run the court (Amare), but one thing MDA never had with PHX? Two BIG's who could both run the floor @ the Center & Power Foward positions. Welcome DeAndre Jordan & Amare Stoudemire.

That offense would be impossible to stop this year. Add a really good defensive player in Jordan who can help Amare rebound, fill lanes, block & contest shots with the Nations leading rebounder in Faried & the Knicks defense becomes much improved. Our offense would be impossible to stop & our defense would be much improved which means; we're instant contenders out of the East under MDA

We will have approximately $47.5 mil in team salary if we drop Billups. This means we will have only 7 players on the roster (Melo, Amare, Fields, Turiaf, Balkman, Rautins and Douglas). This does not include retaining any Bird Rights for Shawne Williams, Mason Jr, Bill Walker, etc. Releasing Balkman does not free us of his salary next year.

1st rounder, 2nd rounder (we still have one left?), Williams, a 'premier' FA big.

Douglas-1st Rounder (or 1st to find Amare backup if pg well is dry w our pick)
Fields-Rautins
Melo-Williams Bird Rights
STAT-Balkman
Jordan~8M-Turiaf

Let it ride till we figure out an improved solution at point (assuming we'd have to).
