Chauncey Billups for Baron Davis
Statistically, they were almost identical last year with Baron making more assists and slightly more blocks and steals per game. Chauncey scored about 3 more points per game. Theoretically, Baron would be a better fit for our team because of his better playmaking skills. And as far as defense goes, They're virtually equals at this stage of their careers.
AGE: Baron Davis is three years younger.
SALARIES: Davis, $13.95 million Billups, $14.2 million
I would do this trade. Not sure though if he can provide the same leadership that Mr. Big Shot brings to the table.

So tell me guys, would you do it? :smokin:

Isn't there two or three more years on Davis' contract?

I'm a fan of Davis. I see him being a better fit. We have to not do this trade though. Keep Billups, offer a small deal, save room for a center. You thought I don't want to sign a max PG? I'd be even more against this with that contract.

However, we might not have much of a shot at a center such as Dalembert and Kaman, so a case could be made that this would be a good trade. Plus when Davis is Billups' age he might sign back with us at a small deal.

Right now, I think we should keep Billups, sign him back after next season, hopefully we have Turiaf, and sign a center.

both Billups and Davis are mediocre (that's being generous for them) at current stage of their career, so the trade doesn't make much sense for both teams. Davis is better passer, but he shoots as poorly as Billups.

How are Billups and Davis mediocre?

To the OP: No I wouldn't do that trade because Billups is better leader with more experience and we forgot how well Billups was playing before he got injured vs Orlando.

Haha! Considering the opportunity of getting CP3 or D12 with the help of Chauncey's contract, I've changed my mind about this trade. This lockout is making me craaaaaaaaazy!

Glad you came around.

Only way Barron Davis should be traded is with an unprotected pick like Cleveland got from the Clippers.

That contract is awful, and no way I trade an expirer for it without major compensation.

I would do this trade because I don't think there is any way we can get a 3rd max star. We won't have enough cap space and we don't have any assets to trade, except Billups' expiring contract. We need to build a team NOW.

The better trade would be Billups' expiring contract + Turiaf's expiring contract + Douglas for Davis + Varejao.

This would give us a more complete starting roster. Then resign Shawne Williams, Anthony Carter and Sheldon Williams. We might be able to compete with that roster.

Lord knows we are going to be awful with the current roster + scraps while we save for a pipe dream in CP3 or Howard.

Would that trade work salary wise?
