Knicks 4 best players are recovering from injuries

The Knicks will have to be more than Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony and aging point guard Chauncey Billups if they are to reach owner James Dolan?s lofty goal of going deep in the playoffs, which may be the only way coach Mike D?Antoni can survive his lame-duck season.

Health was an issue for each of the Big Apple 3 this summer, with Stoudemire rehabbing his back, even amid a report he recently pulled out of a California charity game because of it. Anthony had two offseason surgeries ? on his left knee and chronic elbow. Billups also rehabbed the knee that forced him out of the Boston series.

Plus, there?s reserve guard Toney Douglas, who had major offseason right shoulder surgery and told The Post two weeks ago he was ?still in the process?? of rehab. It?s unclear if he will be ready Dec. 9 for camp.

SAY THE KNICKS add Grant Hill & Kurt Thomas, or something like that. Is that enough to be competitive this season (top 4 in the Eastern Conf)?

Obviously, the health of our 4 best players (Carmelo, Amar'e, Billups & Douglas) will determine that.

GOOD NEWS... at least a short season means our big-3 will be (we hope) healthy come the playoff run.

Maybe we get lucky and a Kwame Brown & J-Crawford decide to sign 1 year deals with us; or we get a C, Hill & maybe Wilson Chandler.

Whatever it is... Getting healthy and preserving cash for 2012 is the focus.

Cant think of a top notch team in the league who isnt nursing injuries right now with regards to their best players rehabbing.

we only hear about it because its the new york media

meanwhile

kobe, bynum
garnett, rondo
wade, bosh
kidd, butler,
noah, boozer,
duncan, ginobli,

and many more whether you realize it or not

are all rehabbing strong this offseason with significant knee, hip, ankle, elbow, wrist, surgeries they have had over the past year or two, or played through last season.

its the NBA man.

btw cool story.

We need a 9+ man rotation to stay clear from serious injuries

The number-one cure to all the Knicks injured players is to FIRE Mike
Dantoni's no-strategic offense/defense seven-man rotation coaching.
In this short 66 game season we will have a couple of 3 games in 4 nights
on the road....we dont need injuries to our top 6 Knicks players from
Damnphony small 7 player rotation in back to back games.

Give this 66 regular season headcoaching job to Herb Williams and assistant
coach Mike Woodson. I want Herb to get up off his butt in this short training
camp and give rookies Jordan & Jorts pointers on co-existing with the Knicks Big-3.
