Chauncy Billups leadership service for only 2 seasons wouldve given the
Knicks a co-existing chemistry system on both sides of the court for the
next 5 seasons. Waiving Billups took the Knicks backwards to the 2005 Knicks.

Tyson Chandler, Amare, and definately Melo, all NEED a playoff experience
floor leader like Billups to call the shots for 48 minutes, practice, and
lockerroom discipline....the average PG (Rondo, Nelson, Felton, Miller, ect.)
can not controll the BIG-EGO Melo/Stat from wanting the ball on every
offensive-play. The Knicks are back with their "individual-performance" with
no chemistry, and no team-defensive-system to help Tyson Chandler.
Assistant coach Mike Woodson took the job on the strength of Billups
    being a Knicks.

P.S. for some reason the waiving of Billups has alot to do with Carmelo
Anthony/Dantoni.....and why Amare stayed in Florida wanting no parts of the
conspiracy....the 5 cancelation of Amare mini-camp during the lockout is now
making SENSE with alot of clairity...

Im taking all comments now so after the 66 game season and the
Melo-first round knockout I can say, "I told u so"
kiyaman, would u rather have Chauncey or Tyson?

You know with the addition of Tyson Chandler, it is a risk because of his health problems, but this guy WAS the defense for the Dallas Mavericks and the 2nd most important piece next to Dirk Nowitzki when it came to the championship win.

IMO we are the 3rd best team in the East. I don't know how Boston can stop us with our size of Amare and Chandler. They couldn't stop Melo by himself, no way they can beat us now.

I would be surprised if we lost on Christmas day to Boston.

Point is we have a rare piece that we have been screaming to get for YEARS

A big man that does dirty work, but Tyson is on another level.

Paul....u and so many others took my post in your own personal direction.
My only mention of Tyson Chandler was he is a beast with a PG floor leader,
and a coaching system with team-defense. The two things the Knicks lack.

The first thing that need to be noted is Billups, Melo, and Amare couldve
knocked off the Boston Celtics in 5 or 6 games in that series.
Boston traded all 3 of their centers on the deadline, and had to start Jermain
O'Neal at center, which Billups & Amare took advantage of Boston weakness
by holding the lead throughout the first game of the series untill the last 2
minutes of the game.... 87-85 Boston win.

It was not hard to notice after the Melo-trade were officially over the
Knicks three star players and Dantoni did not put any effort into coming
together as a team throughout the remainder of the regular season.
The comunication level between the 4 were nonexistence and far apart.
The first and only time I seen Dantoni, Amare, Melo, and Billups talk
together during a time-out were in the first game of the playoffs.
We Knicks fans recognize it as Billups did not want to leave his hometown.
It seem to me it was much-much more than that.
I watched Super-Stars play hurt during the postseason games (Willis
Reed) with their teammates covering for their weakness for years.

During the entire 2011 offseason along with the regular season lockout
Amare...Melo...Billups...stayed states-apart from each other throughout
the seven months of their vacation as if their last 30 games as Knicks had
    a co-existin-chemistry.

"He has the ability to add a lot to our organization, on and off the court,”
coach Vinny Del Negro said about Billups. “He’s not ready to retire. He has
too much left in the tank.”

This POST is about the Knicks Big-3 super-stars Amare/Melo/Billups all knew
throughout this summer the Knicks needed a "Tyson Chandler or Mark Gasol"
so the Knicks Big-3 could compete as contenders....with a media spreading
news of "GREEDY NBA PLAYERS" throughout the lockout, and the NBA owners
sticking to their CBA proposal, which indicate if a team want more than two
super-stars then the super-stars have to take way less in their pay to establish
a 3 super-star team. What part of that was hard to understand about the
    CBA lockout?
The Knicks had 9 players under contract with a total cap of $57M.
The renegotiation of Amare, Melo, and Billups contracts each could've put us
under the salary-cap to sign Tyson Chandler before December 8th....so the
Knicks could keep the amnesty to use later, plus keep Billups to develope our
young potential guards TD, Fields, Shump into star role-players.
