Bibby and Jeffries signed

Just been reported that Bibby and Jeffries have been signed.

Not sure what to make of the Bibby signing but hate that Jared Jeffries will be wearing the Knicks colours again this season.

Do you guys think that there will be any more moves on another point guard. Surely Bibby won`t be our starter at the point will he?

Jeffrie's at his salary is a good addition. Period.

He won't be called upon for crunch time center duties.

Worst case scenario you have another insurance big body, who can defend pretty much every position.

Can you and should you really have Jeffries and Balkman on the same team? Decent defenders but so untalented on the ball.

Bibby can only be a backup PG. Bring in Baron Davis.

Unfortunately there are no indications we're in touch with Davis, he'd be a great addition brining his veteran experience and delivery skills to this team. He passed his prime, but still averaged 6.5 assists per game last season...

The Knicks are Back
im liking the Bibby signing he's gonna add leadership to the PG role and help Douglas continue making strides, as for Jeffries its whatever at least he knows how to take a charge with the best of em.

Toons good to see you back on the forum bro,

Bibby will be interesting. He'll need to up the anti if he doesn't want a media feeding frenzy ripping in to him in the first week.

Jefferies, on the other hand, while overpaid for his role, will probably be effective in a second unit - IF we play one consistently. Hasn't been the case in the past. He forces broken plays and double teams well. He's very reliable on a defensive switch, too.

The Knicks tended to struggle with opponent's second units coming in on fresh legs last year. I hope we have a second unit prepared for this year, that will see some time as a unit in each game.

Jefferies could be a defensive anchor there, but it (the second unit) will need an offensive game plan that suits them, and not be forced to enforce the system if it doesn't work.

These two signings (Bibby & Jefferies) insures GM Grunwald will be replaced
before the season end.
Giving the Knicks mid level exception to (untradeable) Bibby, and resigning
(untradeable) Jefferies to ??? is a "RED-FLAG" of the Knicks moving backwards.

Two days after the signing of Bibby & Jefferies....Knicks fans and NY sports
writers are still mentioning the Knicks need a starting PG to go with Toney
Douglas, and a backup for Amare & Melo off the bench. The two roles that
Bibby & Jefferies were signed to refill.

jefferies is 10 times the defender balkman is
Toons....in another world Jefferies is a better defender than Balkman.
Jefferies got defensive props when Larry Hughes showed him how to
defend the passing-lane from the middle. Something Balkman did real
well as a rookie plus blockshots, rebound, assists, and made his layups.

There is alot of talk going around of running the offense through Melo this
season (why did we sign Bibby?). Melo has never shown any talent of being
a Point-Foward like Lebron, Pierce, Durant, or Odom. Melo's dribblin/passin
skills, and shoot-first attitude ruled him out from being a point-foward.
Lastseason the Atlanta Hawks & Miami Heat biggest weakness were at their
PG spot, both released PG-Bibby. Miami used their MLE on foward Battier's all
around talent, when the NBA gave the Clippers the first option to pick-up the
waiver on Billups. Miami Heat showed no interest in any of the tier-3 UFA
guards available, they are taking their chances with Charmer and probably
two rookie PG.

Look Bibby gave up money to go to Miami and YES THINGS DID NOT WORK OUT...because of the insanity there. Currently he's what the doctor ordered for the Knicks who have a team with 9 new faces out of the 15 signed. So there are more questions than answers.

Our big 3 must remain healthy or FORGETTABOUTIT. I saw that with Melo and his hyper extended knee injury. There is ZERO DEPTH on this team plus we did not sign SHAWNE WILLIAMS....so we got what we got and it is what it is. Lets see the 2 Pre season games with the NETS do foer making any real evaluations.

:alert:Kiyawrong:alert:,

In what world does Bibby getting a one year veteran's minimum deal = him getting the Knick's MLE?

Also, in what world do *1* year contacts (for the veteran's minimum) have shit to do with them being "untradeable"?

Thx.

Damn! I was speed writing this mourning....after reading so many articles this week of the Knicks needing a PG, when they signed Bibby 6 days ago.
Davis/Crawford....both these guards has a career of flaws in their talent, just b/c they are available doesnt mean we should sign them.
Today, Baseball analyst Mike Franseca mention the Knicks will make a 3 player trade for Crawful....lucky I know Franseca is only correct on Baseball.

HoopsWorld.com reported that the Knicks would attempt to put together a sign-and-trade to land Crawford.
The report mentions Toney Douglas, Renaldo Balkman and Bill Walker in the potential sign-and-trade.
Crawford, a free agent, would likely have to take a significant pay cut to sign with the Knicks, who lost their mid-level exception in the Tyson Chandler transaction.

  1. Free agent Jamal Crawford has agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to multiple reports. The 31-year-old chose Portland over Sacramento, which offered a two-year deal worth $6.5 million a year, and New York, which offered $5 million over...

Felton & Crawful will have Portland struggling all season....I feel bad for Mathews, Wallace, and Camby
