This is ridiculous, we lost our full MLE because we went under the cap for a few hours, but we can't bid on Davis because now we're above the cap again... But if we somehow sign him, believe me he'll be playing against the C's on Christmas Day, he's got no back problems at all.

Carter played some ****ty hoops to get out of Toronto and it worked, so why wouldn't Davis play a back issue to get out of Cleveland?

    Baron Davis?

Yeah, why not? Between Baron Davis as backup PG and mentor to TD and Mike Bibby as 3 point specialist, this team has some pretty good roleplayers on the bench. Most teams would KILL to have a player of Baron Davis's caliber as their backup PG (I think he'll play 2nd fiddle to TD but I'm not sure yet).

Get Baron, Get Mike Redd, Get Shawne Williams. Game. Set. Match.

    C- Chandler
    PF- Stat
    SF- Melo
    SG-Fields
    PG-Baron

    TD23
    Redd
    Shumpert
    Williams
    Jordan
    Bibby
    Jeffries

    Inactive: Jorts

See ya later Balkman and Billy Walker (I do like Bill, but he does not fit here)

I think he should start (keeping in mind he wont due to the injury) just because it would:

    1) Give the Knicks a PG who can get Tyson Chandler involved offensively with some easy points from Alley Oops. Not to mention Amare would likely love those as well.
    2) Allow the Knicks to slide TD to the bench where we need a proven scorer and could become the 6th man.
    3) If they sign him for two years next years Full MLE (possibly the knicks last for 3 years) can go to a better player to sub the 3/4 when Melo and Amare sit.

Then TD and Bibby can play back up PG minutes depending on the situation. I don't know if any team under the cap would take him, He has an injury history, doesn't play well when bored (B griffin woke him up and he stayed awake on the cavs) and he is reportedly injured right now. If he clears waivers the knicks need to make him a priority since we will likely have competition from the Lakers.

Legit question though. Who is our backup PF and SF? Shawne Williams could be either or and that leaves one spot open.

    TD23-PG
    Shumpert-SG
    Jordan-C
    Bibby-PG
    Jeffries-C
    Williams-SF

I guess if they do not sign a vet like Redd then Jorts can be the backup PF? Is everyone comfortable with that.

no but it is what it is and Jefferies would be the back up for A'mare Unfortunately. Unless Jorts really showed something to impress D'antoni in the next few training camps. Also the two guys they randomly added Hunter & Green can play those spots. For all D'antoni's many coaching faults getting the best out of a player is not one of them so someone from the roster can definitely stand up.
