The New Jersey Nets have bolstered their defense, reaching an agreement on a one-year contract with swingman DeShawn Stevenson.The deal is expected to be worth $2.5 million.Stevenson spent the previous seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, helping lead them to their first NBA championship in 2011. The 30-year-old is known as one of the league’s top defensive players at his position.Stevenson had 5.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 72 games last season.The Nets waived forward Stephen Graham to make room for Stevenson on the roster.
