Default Tired of needing the perfect team in order for bum coach to win

This is truly ludicrous. This guy doesnt adjust to his roster and players like most coaches. We have all this size now and we shoot more jumpers than any team in the league. If not we're dam close. We have absolutely NO POST PLAYS whatsoever. I mean NONE.

STAT is getting older, now is the time to put his big ass down low and make the other teams pay. But noooooooooo, coach has him shooting from 15ft or more.

Instead of relying on jumpers that are not falling at an alarming rate send STAT, Jorts, Jordan and Chandler in the paint. Play inside out. But noooooooooooo we gotta make sure our quota on 3 pt attempts are met.

Point guards cant run the pick and roll? Can they dump it down into the paint and cut? Seems like an easier task to me. But nooooooooooooo we keep running the same thing that isnt working and getting us beat time after time. Its called INFREAKINGSANITY for those that dont know.

Raise your hand if you thought Jorts was the next Gallo? Hoisting uo 3's at an unconscious pace. Not me. I thought he'd be the next Rambis. Oakley. Silas. Mahorn. But nooooooooooooooooooooooo this idiot takes size and developes him into a 3 point specialist. You're freaking kidding me. You gotta be.

This clown cant hit the road soon enough....

Just heard Jordan got sent down. Now we're smaller. I gotta keep up with his games now. He'll probably dominate the D league and leave us all wondering how he wasnt good enough for 10-15 min a game for the Knicks...

    its maddening isn't it?

here it is simple and plain...

If you make an excuse (roster, chemistry, unfamiliarity, turnover, schedule, Dolan, knees, ISO's, injuries, etc...), find some way to explain what this garbage is, propose a trade, or player, or support this guy in any way...

all I can say is thank you, I now know you have no real basketball knowledge. Easy.

I really cant take it any more. This team does not fit what he wants to do. He doesnt have the consistent shooters he's had in the past. This team should be utilizing its front court advantage on both ends of the court. Not shooting jumpers and putting themselves at a disadvantage. What good is size if you're not going to use it properly? In MDA's case he doesnt use it at all.

These guys look absolutely lost on the offensive end...

Agreed. We desperately need new blood in the coaching department. And Maybe a good big man coach? It is frustrating to see Jorts jack up threes most of the time rather than posting up. It is nice that he's making em and all, but we have enough players who are jacking up 3s every game. Why isn't there anyone beside Chandler who focuses on rebounding?

I would love to see the Knicks sign Charles Oakley as an assistant coach. He does a good job of developing big men. Just look at what he did for DJ White and Byron Mullens in Charlotte. Last season both those guys can't even get on the court for more than 5 mins, but this season they have been solid contributors for the Cats. White has been a good rebounder and starting C for the Bobcats, while Mullens has shown improvement in his offensive game. I know their record stinks but you can't deny that these guys have improved on their individual game.

At the end of the day, if MDA can't take advantage of our frontcourt loaded team then why the hell is he our coach. He's just a bad fit for this roster. Plain and Simple. He wins with a good PG and multiple three point shooters who can run the floor, we have neither.

well I say absolutely lost entirely. Yeah TC has helped with the defense, but since my last rant, I've rededicated my efforts to full-on analysis. I see poor, poor fundamentals and ineptitude, and that includes during wins.

I see it by watching them, and by watching, analyzing, and critiquing other teams. The **** I see is baffling and I can only conclude its the coach.

TD can't shoot. It's the coach. Why? Because first of all he shouldn't have been thinking shoot first after years in the league, he was a defensive PG (duh! he's 6 foot!) in college, and now all of a sudden, after many unreasonably chucked threes, I'm supposed to believe his confidence problem has nothing to do with the green light special coach that tried to make him into someone he's not... with the umpteen player, for the umpteenth time?

    C'mon.

We can't rebound. But there are still photo's depicting FOUR players standing on the perimeter, eagerly awaiting a pass to chuck, and one going for a rebound after a three attempt for the umpteenth time. Hello? That's called coaching a flawed philosophy. Coach.

Jort shooting more threes than anything. OMG coaching. Or we could believe 'Antoni told him to move the ball, Jorts ignored him and decided to chuck away. Nope, that was what he was told by coach.

And no one sees anything wrong with this? I could see an "as long as we're winning" response, but we aren't doing that consistently.

Like I said, I could go on and on, but ANY retort in favor of 'Antoni must be met with a grain of "you just don't know basketball" salt.

There are no more excuses. Don't be in denial.

Honestly Red do you pay much attention to what people write on these forums? With your constant MDA bashing in every single thread you don't seem to realize there are only about 5 posters here who still support MDA

I can't....I CAN NOT watch this ****ING man "coach" this team into mediocrity. We have the same record as the Cavs for christ's sakes.

The Knicks scored on 4 of their last 14 possessions. FOUR. This is weeks after the christmas day game, where they allowed the Celtics to go in a 17-7 run in 5 mins to tie the game up, after having a 10 point lead to start the half. The very same team that played the Raptors and took THIRTY-FIVE 3 POINTERS, made 10 of them....lost. A short while later, against the Bobcats, didn't have a single field goal from 1 min and some change in the 3rd, to 1 min and some change in the forth. Essentially getting about 7 points in free throws, in a quarter's worth of time, and had ZERO field goals with Michael Andrew D'Antoni the offensive "genius" as your coach. His genius orchestrated the ball not going into the ****ing hoop for what equates to a full quarter of professional basketball.

The coach with the undying support of a niche group of members here, who held a practice for his team before the Thunder game--it was 47-70 @ halftime.

We. Have. The. Same. Record. As. The. Cleveland. Cavaliers.

The only teams we've beaten are the Celtics, Kings, Pistons, Bobcats, Wizards, and the 76ers on their 3rd game in 3 nights...who would have won that game if there were another 5 mins or so left, cause they came after us late and the Knicks looked like Angulo when he fought Kirkland last year.

If you seriously support this man as a coach, after you've seen what he's accomplished as a coach post having a HoF-PG on his roster, you have to ask yourself:

Thumbs up Dont hate the players....Fire coach Dantoni

I mention it over a million times, "Celebrity coach Damnphony couldnt get a
job coaching any NCAA team". The NBA has been using Damnphony to get
    Euro-league fan support.

Dantoni & Frank Lawrance should stick to being the coffee-boy for the coaching-staff.

Lastseason our bigmen rotation were: Shawn, Gallo, W.Chandler, Stat, and
injury-prone Turiaf....which lead to Stat being tired, aghausted, and injured
for postseason and throughout the lockout.

This season our Bigmen rotation has been: Tyson, Stat, Melo, and Jorts....
It is becoming obvious of what coach Dantoni is doing his lastseason with the
    Knicks....injuries, injuries, and more injuries.

There is no "Pick n Roll" because all of our bigmen rotation refuse to pick for
their teammates....which is why all our PG look terrible trying to create with
all his teammates wide on the peremeter with their defenders guarding the
paint area forcing our PG to pass the ball outside on the peremeter.

I couldnt get mad at rookie Shump for shooting 20 shots in one game b/c his
college coaches taught him well "when u could dribble the ball inside to 10 to
12 feet from the basket without a screen or pick take that shot rather than
pass the ball to a teammate 20 or 25 feet away from the basket".

Our rookie Jorts is not being taught to screen or pick for our PG or any of his
teammates, nor is he being taught to box-out of the paint for offense or
defensive rebounds which he did so well in the NCAA playoffs last year (the reason
why NBA Stern's scouts selected Jorts in the 2nd round for NO Hornets....
Okafor, West, Jorts, Landry....nice C/PF rotation for CP3).

Idk about JPZ, I've seen him just say "MDA is the best coach in the NBA" -- but idk if he's actually being sincere, or just trying to be a contrarian.

Trillion...I think wants him to be replaced -- though doesn't think he is a bad coach.

    Rono, definitely, however.

Yes I do read. I'm not addressing anyone inparticular on here, my response is towards anyone, posters, guests, people at my job, anyone who can't identify our issues as coach related.

    Yes.. i still support MDA.

He's not perfect, but he's a good coach.

I'm a firm believer in the notion that every coach, even the very best, need the highest caliber players if you're going to have success.

Whether it's Pat Riley, Phil Jackson or whoever.

Look at all those years Riles had Ewing and no second star and didn't get it done

Jackson without Jordan that one year= no title.

Jackson w Kobe aging, decides to retire.

I think the same things are important that most people do. I enjoy good defensive play and strategy. I was one of the first people on the forum to call for a defensive assistant to be added to the coaching staff.

W Woodson so far this year were 8th in defensive rating. Seeing that I'm like what do people have to complain about. We've held teams to around 80 points in a few games this yr.

Right now its the offense, the bad backcourt and some gellin issues from Amare now being entrenched at the 4 and the rest of the guys not really have a feel for each other and playing together that are our main issues.
I think Melo takes too many shots also. He needs to be a distributor, get guys involved in the first 3 quarters and take over if needed in the fourth.

But back to my original point. MDA needs a PG to run his offense, no secret there. Every coach needs components.

Thruout NBA history it's always been the same.

When he had Nash and Felton MDA could run his stuff and he had success. Without someone who can really run a team you see what we've been subjected to... Melo trying to play point forward. This is not ideal.

When Baron Davis steps on the floor. We'll start to see this thing look the way it's supposed to.

Until then we will be incomplete, lacking in the most important type componentry for this system.

Naturally MDA and the success of the team is affected by this and the other issues I've highlighted.

Idk what some of you want the man to do. With a complete team this coach will have good success.
