Shump with the hussle. With the right coaching (aka not mike) this guy can be a lockdown defender a la Ron Artest or at best Metta World Peace...

This game right here....so far, encapsulates every reason why we aren't playing like a winning team.

Amare playing some of the worst D you will find on any team in the entire NBA.

Melo not playing complete team ball, but he's looks pretty damn good nonetheless.

We'd be winning this game in emphatic fashion of Amare and Melo just played like winners who do what it takes, and like the stars who normally get called stars, a la Paul Pierce.

Nothing to do with their talents, or whether they are making nice plays off their skills.

If you want to be a winner, and a champion, your leaders need to play like it -- and that has zero to do with how many points they score in a given game, or any other metric.

Having a healthy-seeming Shumpert playing these days is so critical.

If Amare and Melo play like themselves while committing to the team and defense we are a championship team. :crossfingers:

-- Melo looks to have a nice fire in his belly tonight.

That 2nd 3 pt attempt by Novak was way too quick and a wasted possession. Of course Breen would never point that out though since its Novak.

Great defensive first quarter. Bar, of course, STAT getting burned by a slow center off the dribble.

Maintain the defensive effort, rotate, move the ball, attack the hoop and we're gonna be there at the end win or lose.
