Last season knicks finished above .500
This year knicks are at .43% and in order to finish at even 1 game above .500, knicks need to finish the next 24 games with a 16-8 record (.66%). ANY ONE ACTUALLY BELIEVE THATS GONNA HAPPEN? After how consistently poor we've played when Melo and Stat are active.
So its almost a certainty knicks finish with a worse record than last year, even tho they supposedly have so much more talent this year.
Only the bucks (8th seed) as of right now have a below .500 record and are in the playoff picture. knicks are not getting the 6th seed (6.5 games behind). Regardless of whether they get the 7th or 8th seed, they're either facing the bulls or the heat = automatic 1st round exit!
Dolan cares less about regular season record and more about how he does in the playoffs. Knicks could be mediocre during the season and MSG will still sell out and knicks will still make enough $. But the playoffs thats the real golden goose. The deeper the knicks go , the more money he'll stands to make.
Dantoni doesnt need to get fired, his contract is up at season's end. So Dolan just wont renew him. The only way in my opinion Dantoni gets a contract is if knicks make the conference finals.
