My Observations of Game 2

I think any two-man play between Melo and Amar'e is impossible because Melo just isn't a team guy.

Melo wants his and that's all that matters. If team wins and he gets his, cool; if team loses and he gets his, that's cool too.

Melo isn't about sacrificing himself for the good of the team. That's the problem.

Im not a Melo Hater....but that is the truth about Melo.
However, that could be changed by having two decent PG on the same-page and a strong headcoach.

The Miami Heat are the 1st top contender for the FINALS with 3 star leadership players guiding their path.

Headcoach Mike Woodson playoff coaching has been humiliated by the 2 games vs the Miami Heat. Woodson playoff coaching strategy stands at a "F" average....33 point loss, 10 point loss.
All of Woodson's lineups have no scheme or set plan to out wit the Heat on offense or defense, inside or outside.
Woodson is trying to beat the Miami Heat with 3 & 4 scorers in all his lineups and has FAILED....its time for Woodson to use 3-defensive players in all his lineups, starting with a defensive lineup of Tyson/Jefferies/Fields, using Jorts & TD as their defensive backups. We have to force Bron/Wade/Miller to do all the scoring while shutting-down all the other Heat players.

Our peremeter-defense annnd our inside-defense stink without having any leadership.
Our offense stinks worst than our defense, we have let the Miami Heat outscore us in all 8 quarters of the series....we lack team leadership from all our high scoring players on the offensive end of the court....there's no plan, play, or creativity on a broken play, only ISO.

It's obvious from game 1, iso doesnt work against Heat. Yet Woodson stayed with it through high and low. It really made me wonder who is really coaching the team? Woodson or Melo?

If Woodson is really the coach, then he is riding Melo like "Secretariat." in this playoffs, and eventually will ride into the sunset and sweep himself out of NYC.

Part of the problem is that Woodson has not had the chance to come up with any type of competent two-man play between STAT & Melo. STAT & Lin got injured when Woodson took over.

The trio of Stat/Melo/and Lin-Sanity were not ready to be in the same lineup when Woodson took over....Melo wanted to take charge and Lin wanted to WIN.

Woodson is an interim headcoach....he's not going up against the double ego's of Melo vs Stat in the playoffs.

Grunwald & Woodson contracts shouldve been extended at the same time.

The Lin thing is over blown, Melo was playing bad and guys were calling him out, he was uncomfortable the way he was playing as thats not his game

Melo got comfortable and the team found an identity, inside-out ball playing off of Melo then STAT came back, the Cleveland game and things went down hill from there

Melo has to limit his iso's to when either STAT or Chandler are on the bench and JR or Novak are in the game

Melo wants to win I dont know where you dont see that, regardless thats your opinion

When Melo was sitting-out with a groin injury....Lin-Sanity save the Knicks by giving us a low post scoring game with Tyson, Jefferies, and the return of Stat, plus Lin gave us inside scoring from Shump, Fields, and even Walker....our 30 3-ball attempts per game decrease to how many 3-balls Novak could shoot in a game.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

This is why u guys were callin for Lin's head when Melo return, Lin limited Melo's fga under double-digets. Lin was more confident in passing the ball to Tyson, Stat, Novak, Jefferies, Shump, and Fields, than he was at passin the ball to Melo & JR who always wanted to dribble the ball before they shoot.
Fans started questioning Melo co-existence with the team....Stat & Lin had to get injured so Melo could save-face by being the top scorer.

Recall, when Stat came back (from family situation) Lin would never pass the ball to Stat on the peremeter, Lin would only pass to a slashing Stat or when Stat were 10 ft from the basket.

There is no doubt that Linsanity saved Knicks' season. Without it, MDA would've been gone and we'd be so far down in standing that even Jordan in his prime couldn't do anything.

However, I still don't get the Melo hate. He was amazing in leading the Knicks into post-season. Yes, he needs to take a LOT of shots and he needs to be the focal point of our offense. I don't see anything wrong with that mentality. That's what Kobe does with the Lakers.

For Knicks to be a true contender, we need both Melo and Lin to be on the same page. That's Melo and Lin.
