    I would keep:

    Anthony
    Shumpert
    Jordan

    I would try to trade:

    Stoudemire
    Chandler
    Douglas
    Fields (sign and trade)

    For:

Deron Williams or Rajon Rondo or Dwight Howard or Kevin Love or Andrew Bynum or 2 of those (financial throw ins reserved)

    I would resign:

Jeremy Lin (for a reasonable salary)
    J. R. Smith
    Jared Jeffries

    I would try to sign:

A rebound-specialist like Reggie Evans, Kris Humphries, Mo Speights, Jordan Hill

    Wilson Chandler
    A scoring big

    Sign a new HC:

    Phil Jackson
    Jeff Van Gundy
    Jerry Sloan
    Stan Van Gundy
    Nate McMillan
    Pat Ewing

    in that order.

^ i don't see how JR and Lin both are signed. it's feasible to retain Lin and Novak, though.

Honestly.....the only way I'm going to get truly juiced about this off-season is if we find a miracle trade for Stoudemire, or Nash signs for the vet-min, letting us re-sign Lin and Novak.

It would be a great move on Nash's part, actually. Would make his career and legacy meta-epic. He legit likes NY, he legit wants to play for a team he can lead and vie for a chip for.

And the $ he doesn't make would have him transcend the game, and the $ he does make (cough cough endorsements with Lin cough cough) would supercede a max deal, which he wouldn't get no matter where he goes.

I'll dream for a moment, only bc Nash is the only player in the NBA who could think on this level, and pull off a move like this.

I would go after Greg Oden for the NBA minimum 1 year deal.

I would try to trade Amare ASAP. I suggested this at the beginning of the year. Bargiani + Amir Johnson for Amare.

    Resign Lin and Novak.

Honestly you can probably find a mediocre player in the draft with a similar skillset as Landry Fields...I'm indifferent on him coming back.

I doubt this would happen, but I believe it would work well with Melo, Lin and Chandler. Bargnani is injury-prone, but Amir Johnson could cover that spot when he's out.

I am going to try to be realistic

    Resign
    Lin
    Novak
    Bibby (Vet min)
    Harrelson (min)
    Jordan(min)

    Sign and trade
    Fields

    Trade
    Douglas

Smith will want more than 2.5 mil so we need to go after a legit SG who can hit outside shots like a Jodie Meeks type

Need to sign a backup PG that is known as ball distributor who is quick, nothing special but better than Bibby

Have Bibby as the 3rd string in case you need outside scoring or if someone goes down he is a solid back up

Get a PF who can hit outside shots for floor spacing.
