RAY ALLEN SG Celtics

Allen's troublesome ankle caused his three-point shot to go south in the postseason (26.9%), and his relationship with Rajon Rondo has created tension in the locker room. Before the trade deadline Boston nearly moved Allen; the emergence of Avery Bradley makes him expendable.

WHO WANTS HIM

Sources say the Heat and the Knicks are at the top of Allen's list.

I dont know how reliable the "source" is but, if its true Ray Allen would consider signing with us would you sign him up

I really dislike making threads on these players (probably my last one until we find out about the Lin/Novak situation), because if we dont get Lin/Novak bird rights they are almost pretty pointless, with a very slim chance to get some of these players who are interested in the Knicks

that would be awesome ..

Lin knows how to find the 3-point specialists.

And we need more jumpers, so Amare can focus more on getting to the rim

oh yeah, and he is hot right now, 3 of 5 from downtown at the 1st half

If we can get him for the bi-annual exception or Vets min, definitely do it. Believe it or not he is a more useful 3 point shooter than Novak. Novak is great at catch and shoot but thats about it.

Ray is great at shooting 3's off the dribble and in a number if situations. He is a versatile player who can provide some defense, a bit of ball handling duties in the second unit and is a capable passer.

Not to mention the veteran leadership and utter professionalism he will bring to the locker room. His attitude is brilliant and he will work hard to keep his conditioning at a high level.

He's one of the very, very few current Celtics that I actually respect. Would be pretty cool if we got him.

BALL DON'T LIE
Honestly, as much as I love Novakaine, I'd rather let him go and chase Allen if this is true. Novak was useless in the playoffs because he's not fast and mobile enough to run through screens.

Would be a great signing especially with Shumpert being out. Allen is the ultimate proffesionalist he's always in shape, plays defence, can still give you 10-15 pts, the only problem is how much money would he want.

Ray Allen great task of turning Rondo into one of the leagues top-5 PG in 4 years makes Ray Allen a great assistant coach.
Ray Allen's age and injuries has finally caught up wih him to be competing in a 82 game season as a player.
Draft class of 1996, 37 years old in July.

Ray Allen is one of my favourite NBA players ever, one of the first players I took an interest in when I first started watching the NBA. Would love to see him in a Knicks uniform if we could afford him and all the pieces fit, probably the only Celtic I'd like on this team. How great would it be if Melo set a hard screen on Rondo (knocking him flying) freeing up Allen to hit a game winner at MSG over Pierce?!

i would love to have rondo on this team as well. Lin would play back up to one of the best pure PGs in the NBA. But that's a pipe dream for me.

Seems like another FA using the Knicks to get a boost in $$$ from their current team. Remember J.Kidd and Grant Hill couple years back, this is all speculation we need something more concrete.

Ray Allen is a deadly player. He will kill you.

Great addition to any team, and because his game is based on the long trey bucket, he'll stay in the league for the next half-decade.

Allen would be a perfect fit to spread the floor for Melo and Amare

Even if we signed Lin, i would hope we could use the 2.5 mil on Allen instead of J.R but odds are Allen will resign with Boston or sign with some other team for the mid level

Not gonna happen, he won't sign with the Knicks.

Get real folks, just another player using the Knicks to raise his stock like Battier, Grant Hill, Nash, Lebum etc.

If the Celtics win a championship he'll retire in Boston.
If they lose that series to the Heat he'll end up in South Bitch next year like everyone else.

It's getting ridiculous, how much more help does Lebron need to win a freaking championship?

What a loser.

It really is getting ridiculous. How does a 3 time MVP need so much help to win a chip that he doesn't already have in Wade & Bosh? Wade is a legit Hall of Fame calibre player & Bosh is Allstar level himself. Shane Battier, Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, James Jones, Joel Anthony & Udonis Haslem are all quality role players. Lebron is the most talented player in the NBA by a large margin & talks a great game when things are going well for him & his team. He's great at dancing on the sidelines & getting himself on ESPN highlights with his high flying dunks & flashy passing. What happens when the pressure is on & it's time to put up or shut up? He's been known to crumble under those circumstances. Maybe Steve Nash & Ray Allen will join him on South Beach next season to help him win his championship? Then he can finally go down in history as one of the greatest to ever play the game. /sarcasm
