New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns are the four NBA Teams interested in Mirza Teletovic.
The Bosnian PF reached an agreement with Caja Laboral on the buyout amount for the NBA. Teletovic is close to moving to the NBA where he should play from the coming season.
Teletovic has two years left on his contract with Caja Laboral.

Nowak notes: ?He scores 20-25% of his team points, shoots around 43% from both 2pt and 3 pts range ? his 3 pt range is NBA ready, the coach runs ?Reggie Miller? like playes for him and he scores from not steady aimed shoots. Also avg. 1 bpg and 6 rpg. Was in the 2007 Draft but went undrafted

I just saw this on knicksblog.com....

this guy is nasty...he can run the floor, pass, has a quick Novak type of release, has the same range as Novak, can dunk it hard, plays defense....looks like a good all around player primed for the NBA

I have doubts we can get him here for the vet minimum while other teams will offer more but maybe the lure of NY gets him here

anyway I like this guy....also hit some clutch shots with guys in his face in the highlight videos.

"DraftExpress: Mirza Teletovic is a 6-9 PF who doesn't rebound, shoots 40% from field & is an average defender. Even 3P shooting has been streaky this year"

IMO though, he is an undersized PF who does little other than shoot threes.

He doesn't make them nearly like Novak does, but he hits some of the craziest shots and occasionally posterizes people out of nowhere.

Sounds like a white Al Harrington.

Al Harrington is not gonna be posterizing many people anytime soon, those days are long past him. Not sure if these highlights are recent or not, but he looks like he's got some nice skills. Nice looking shooting form, runs around well to get open w/o the ball & has a nice catch & turn around J. Those dunks are pretty vicious too, he's obviously much more athletic than Novak & more mobile. Also looks like he can create his own shot better w/that step back & fade off the dribble, while Novak is more of a pure spot up shooter. Even if this guy's defense is average at best, that still makes him a much better defender than Novak. I have rarely seen many players that are worse defenders than Novak. However, all that said, Novak has a killer J and he's so consistent with it. As long as we have a PG who can penetrate & dish (Lin), then I'd rather have Novak on this team. But if we're unable to sign Novak this summer then I would welcome this guy with open arms to play his role. Looks like he's got game.

This guy has nothing of what we need. We need a back up point guard, shooting guard and back-up center. Not that he doesn't have talent, but we need to spend our money on pieces that better fit our team.

Doesn't matter what he does or where he fits, you want a Bosnian on this team. They're the most unintentionally hilarious people in the world.

AL Harrington never posterized anyone, the dude would not even dunk on fast breaks with no one in front of him....but I do see the shooter type of comparison.

I like this guys quick release and he hit clutch shots with second left on the clock in the that clip. We need guys with ice in their veins, those kind of players become the Manu Ginobili and Dirks of the NBA

I think this guy only becomes a viable option if we end up losing Novak this summer to free agency. We will definitely need a backup SF in that scenario. Bill Walker is no longer here either & Landry is not an effective shooter at all.

No offense but that scouting report was from 4 years ago. Would like to know how he has developed over those 4 years.

I think he's only an option if we win the Bird rights issue. Then we'll have money to play with. Otherwise, it's a moot point because Lin by himself will take up the entire MLE or a majority of it. Like Georgios Printezis, this guy most likely won't come to the States for NBA minimum money. If I had to guess, I bet Printezis and Teletovic are probably both seeking the same type of contract Donnie gave Mozgov a couple of years ago -- 3 yrs, $9M. That may be the benchmark here..These two look more skilled overall than Mozgov - I can't imagine either guy taking (or getting) less to come stateside. It might take a contract like that to seriously lure either guy. If we do decide to go Euro -- Printezis might be the better pickup of the two. Seems more versatile. And unlike Teletovic, at least we own his rights for the time being, so that's a good thing. Don't have to worry about the Nets or anyone else stealing him. With this guy, it's the Knicks or nothing -- if we can't work out something with Printezis then he stays in Europe..

I don't know if I'd overpay for a Euro., but that's me. No need. Everything we need is right here in the States (or in one of our own homegrown players currently playing abroad) and we wouldn't have to overpay at all. If we need to replace Novak with a 3-pt specialist, how 'bout Ryan Wittman? We could get this guy dirt cheap and imo, he's just as good a 3-pt shooter as anybody we're talking about here, including the unknown Teletovic, maybe even Novak. He just needs an opportunity to prove it at the NBA level -- just like Novak finally got last year basically, his cup of coffee for the LAC aside.

For the amount of money it would take to sign Teletovic or Printezis (and it's not just sheer dollars, it's the fact that we'd have to commit part of the MLE which makes a signing like this so much more risky & a lot less favorable), I'd argue that I could reload with 3 competent low-salary rotation players at least, maybe 4, all without using any salary exceptions...And I could cover exactly what we covet from this guy Teletovic which is outside shooting and a little more size along the frontline...Teletovic or Printezis aren't coming unless we offer either guy part of the MLE, at least half. Committing MLE-type money to someone is a tricky thing -- we need to be sure. I'm just not sure about these guys..Not sure I want us getting into some bidding war with this jagoff Prokhorov over Teletovic either, I can tell you that.

Plus if we're really insistent on having a 'stretch 4,' why not look to develop Jorts Harrellson into that type of guy? His stroke still needs some work but there's a lot of potential there -- much better shooter than anyone ever thought. All he needs is a little refinement & consistency. That comes with increased PT, confidence and more touches (it'll be interesting to see how Woody uses Harrellson next year, if he plays him at all -- will he play him down low exclusively or like D'Antoni, will he allow him to take 3s when it's there). Unlike these weaker, less-physical Euro players, Jorts has the body and mindset to make a difference on the glass and on the block defensively. Much better equipped physically than either of these guys to play down low on the other end. Sometimes the answers to what you're looking for were right in front of you the whole time.

Any word on this dude?

He's leading the EuroLeague in PPG by more than 5 points average.

If Novak bolts does anyone know about regulations and buyouts etc.?

Nets signed him to the mid level exception already

No sh!t!? Fvcking Nets are having an offseason for the ages.

They pull in Howard and we're looking at a threat in the East that'll challenge Miami on an even keel.

No joke, already got Deron Willians, Joe Johnson, and Gerald Wallace. Add Dwight Howard and we are looking at a serious contender.

Ain't gettin Dwight

Orlando has all the leveraged and he ain't takin the MLE and if they try and pay him under the table the league will find out

Once the made the Wallace and Johnson moves that ship sailed
