An athletic 2 guard is the major need at this point...CJ Miles? Anything interesting on the Raptors roster we can raid in sign and trade for Landry?

Default Projected Stats for Knicks in 2012-13

    Melo - 24ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3apg
    Stat - 19ppg, 8rpg, 1.5 bpg
    Chandler - 12ppg, 10rpg, 1.8bpg
    Lin - 16ppg, 8apg, 2spg
    JR - 13ppg, 4rpg, 3apg

    Novak - 9ppg
    Camby - 8ppg, 7rpg. 1.5bpg (in 25 mpg)
    Kidd - 5ppg, 4apg (in 20 mpg)
    Shump - 12ppg, 4rpg
    Jeffries - 3ppg, 3rpg

They still need a third point guard and another shooting guard to hold them off until Shump returns, but they're looking decent so far.

Besides being an older Celtic style team, we have a chance to be more complete then the last two years. Durability is still our Achilles heel... Everyone needs to stay healthy at least going into the playoffs, where we could make a run at a Championship...

Dude Jeremy Lin is starting over Jason Kidd

And Mike Woodson confirmed it today...Nate Taylor: Mike Woodson said Jeremy Lin will be the starter when the team matches Houston's offer. Twitter

Why would we pay 5 mil a year for someone that is backup to a 3 mil a year player??

Lin might be named starter but things "COULD" change by season opener. Kidd proven winner, pass first PG at this point of his career better suited for this starting lineup, but we will see. What is said now doesn't hold much water.

Lin is a future investment, Kidd is a chip to win now! Knicks would of paid more in a sign & trade but Dallas wasn't having any part of that. So for the BAE, Kidd took it. Kidd is also a proven winner. Lin right now is a hot commodity and his pay is more then his "RAW" Potential is worth. 3 years + Team option, he has room to develop or flop! Come the fourth year who knows, TEAM OPTION = YES/NO

This is Jason Kidds team now .. it will be Kidds decision what games Lin start, and what games Lin dont start. The Knicks are a TEAM now...

While Woodson said Lin wears the starter jersey when training camp opens in October, Carmelo piped in it might be good for Jeremy to come off bench behind Kidd. “If [Lin] comes off the bench, playing behind a guy like Jason Kidd, playing under a guy and learning from Kidd, he should take advantage of this opportunity — just having JKidd on our team,’’ Anthony said. No doubt Melo has ball more in his hands when Kidd is on court. But I hope that's not what he's thinking. Read more at the New York Post ›

I'd have to agree with him.

It wouldn't be a step backwards to not start at the beginning of the season, or the entirety of the season, for that matter.

Whatever's best is best. I think we can rely on both Lin and Woodson to want to make that happen.

What Lin during Linsanity made him stand out as a legit starting PG. Kidd can not do half of what Lin did during Linsanity. The old Kidd would have started over Lin but Kidd is now 39, he is a good backup.

Lin should start he is better and getting paid more, period.

Kidd and Lin will most likely play at the same time as well now that we have Priogioni as a 3rd PG.
