We will 100% lose Shump because Dolan will trade STAT and Shump for CP3 this season.

Haha... probably not...but this thread is funny!

★KNICKS-TAPE★
If for argument sake Jeremy Lin DOES become a beast by 2015, then the Knicks will have max cap space that summer to offer him a contract. What's the difference? Why would it have been better to build off Lin & Shumpert for 3 years rather than trying to win now with veteran players? I'm having a hard time understanding this. We have a window of 3 years while we have STAT, Melo & Tyson on the roster. After that the window is closed & it's going to be time to rebuild again. Unless we were going to dump STAT & Melo's salaries NOW to gather young assets, I don't see how building around Lin would have made the most sense. This team is being built around Melo & STAT, it's pretty obvious. Until those guys are off the team, that's how it will remain. We need to think about putting COMPLEMENTARY players around those guys, not guys that will have trouble meshing with their style of play.
if Lin becomes a beast in 2015, who's to say he wants to return to New York... he may very well be adapted to the Rockets and re-sign there.

Worst case Scenario - We don't win a championship, Lin becomes top 5 PG in the league... and we'll be saying "hey there goes Lin, if only Dolan matched"

Best Case scenario - We win a Championship before the contracts expire, Lin proves he's not as good as people think and no harm is done

If Lin doesn't want to come back to NY then so be it. I don't want ANY player here who doesn't want to be here. I want guys who are DESPERATE to represent that orange & blue jersey & play their heart out for this franchise.

Grid or Riot
Debating about the future of a franchise that substitutes 75% of its roster after each season is simply pointless. We're constantly rebuilding, if signing seven new players (including starters) isn't called rebuilding, then what is?

Would of been better to build off Lin and Shumpert heading into 2015 rebuild mode

Lin is still far from being elite, and has alot of flaws in his game, but by 2015 dude would probably be a beast by then

Shumpert already makes his presence felt on the floor from a defensive standpoint, by 2015 if he's able to stay healthy dude will be force especially if he continues working on his offensive game.
