Oh.
Well, still, Portland is run way better than the Knicks. I'm sure they'll be in contention before we will.

I disagree.
He got himself in a snake pit.
First he has to arrive in perfect shape, which is doubtful.
He's got to perform at the level he did 2 years ago, which I don't see possible just because this is a whole different team (Only STAT left, as a matter of fact) and a whole different system (ball is in Melo's hands)
The comparisons with Lin will be inevitable, not only Felton will not come near the level of Linsanity (which is unfair, but will be brought up), but baring an injury, Lin will put insane numbers in Houston (it's his team and his team only).
And if (when) the Knicks start to underperform, the pressure will be huge on all the players, specially Carmelo (unless he's carying the team somehow) and secondly on Felton.
Those are the reasons why I'm not very optimistic right now.
It takes a very tough (dumb) guy to take on this challenge. Some people say Felton has the personality, but when we're talking about a guy who tanked the whole last season and got to 30 pounds overweight, I think it's just fair to question his drive and professionalism.
I haven't had this little hope in a PG since we acquired Steve Francis.
I just have no faith in Felton, someone help me out here.
Raymond Felton has to many FLAWS for any Knicks fan to be optimistic about Felton return to New York.
On July 9th 2010. FA Felton agreed to signing with the Knicks.
Practically all new & old Knicks players were working-out at the Knicks summer facility throughout the months of July, August, and September in 2010. except PG-Felton who did not show his face as a Knicks untill the opening of training-camp. The Knicks got off to a terrible 3-8 record start of the 2010-11 season b/c there PG-Felton were not familiar with his new teammates talents n skillz.
Felton's individual offseason work-ethic has never improved his teammates talents in Felton's 7 season NBA career.
Felton's best career season in the NBA were with the 3-ball shooting Knicks, having one of the leagues top-5 high scoring specialist in the Pick n Roll Amare Stoudemire as a teammate.
The table has did a 360 degree turn on Felton's return as a Knicks .. Felton no-longer have the consistant defensive players PG-Douglas, SG-Fields, and SF-Chandler picking up the slack on Felton's lazy effort on the defensive-end of the court. Instead Felton's new Knicks teammates in the backcourt are known all around the league for their No-defensive-effort SG-JR.Smith & SF-Carmelo Anthony.... Smith & Crawford fancy dribble in one spot that never gets to the foul-line are practically the same type of player .. look at Portland 2011-12 starters and the Knicks 2012-13 starters with Felton as the floor leader.
Real Talk
The Knicks 2012-13 season are depending on three-players (PG/SG/SF) who individual-offseason work-ethic has never committed to "Team-Defense" in their entire career in the NBA. They work hard on their individual-scoring, not team-offensive scoring.
Something to think about in the offseason...
RECENT PICTURES OF FELTON HE LOOKS MUCH BETTER
I said Felton has a great opportunity here not that he'll seize the opportunity.
Like you say, lot of question marks about him after that season in Portland.
Going to give him the benefit of doubt that it was Nate and the Trailblazers after hearing a couple of his Portland teammates say he'll do great in NY and that Portland being in disarray last year under Macmillan was Felton's problem. He also had a good month of bball after Nate was fired.
90s Bulls, Lakers, and Heat all did pretty well without a star PG.
He's at the Knicks summer league game sitting with Amare. He's being interviewed right now and he doesn't look fat to me. Stat looks great though
@alanhahn: Felton admits to Breen on @msgnetworks he was upset about being traded to Denver, "But I'm back home now."
@TommyDeeTKB: RT @ChrisBHaynes: Former #Blazers G Raymond Felton in Vegas. Weight is really down. Wouldn't reveal how much he's lost but says he's on a mission.looks good
@alanhahn: Felton also says he would have come to Knicks regardless of Lin situation because "this is where I wanted to be."
@alanhahn: Felton on @msgnetworks: "I won't make no excuses, I wasn't in shape [last season]..I'm looking fwd to this year and shutting everybody up."
@alanhahn: Felton says he is in shape now, could play right now. Really seemed to take to heart what's being said about him.

He just admitted to being a fatass last year and said he's in great shape right now and can't wait to prove everyone wrong.
