He played great for the Clippers, problem is that he was upset (reportedly) about the lack of meaningful playing time @ 22mpg. With that said, I doubt he chooses the Knicks for the vet min and back-up PF playing time behind STAT. The only thing we have going for us is that we have a **** load of K-Mart's former teammates here in NY.

I think we should take a look at ATL's 28 year old rookie from last year, Ivan Johnson, the kid played hard, hustled, rebounded with the best of 'em (from the few games I saw him play). Not much of an offensive threat, but should be a good defensive weapon for us, much like Ronnie Brewer.

Even signing the birdman, Chris Anderson would be a great fit for us. Any news regarding him? Besides his troubles with the law.

I forgot, he could play the PF. So there is an opening for him. I'd LOVE for him to be on our team.

In all seriousness he would be good.

But then we run into the problem with minutes. Who's minutes do you cut down?

Plus I think at this point we just need a role player, really Jared Jefferies and Jorts would've been great here, Kenyon Martin is almost too much.

    Jermaine Oneal
    Chris Anderson
    Renaldo Balkman

Chris Anderson is the most intriguing because of his energy

I think a lot of guys aren't willing to end up without a chair at the end of the song. Meaning, even though money is drying up, the veterans are going to want to sign with a contender before its too late.

It's just the waiting game period right now.

I think we should stay away from JO, his two seasons in Boston were filled with injury and he is a real chance of missing plenty of playing time. If we can't get Martin I'd love a bit of youth or someone not completely past their prime.

Doesn't sound like we're too interested in bringing in KMart. i haven't seen one report say we've inquired about him.

I think at this point he is holding out hope that someone will throw a lot of money at him. Can't think of many competitive teams that will

I think we're pretty set already. Maybe a bench warmer as a 3rd string SF/PF, but it looks like we're finished for the summer unless something crazy happens.

Last spot went to Chris Smith (JR's brother) Dude looks like a scrub to me but we probably just did it as a thank you to JR for him re-signing I guess.

I think Chris Smith will be on the training camp roster. He is not guaranteed. He'll get paid for as long as he's with the team. He won't be one of the 15 on the opening day roster. there will probably be another 4-5 guys signed on make good deals similar to Chris Smith's deal.
