This is the best knick team anyone under 40 has seen in our life!

I'm on the verge of providing my Red Quarter Pole analysis but before I do I want to say the following:

-At about the 7 game mark I concluded

THIS IS THE BEST KNICK TEAM WE UNDER 40 HAVE EVER SEEN.

I said it to my cousin down in ATL; that we can't argue about how good this team is or what we are capable of because we have NEVER seen this before.

I also want to say there is too much credit to go around, we are the very definition of team.


But first and foremost

THANK YOU COACH WOODSON & GRUNWALD! We appreciate you two.

-Undefeated at home and 17-1 since coach took over
-fielding the defensive player of the year
-having an unstoppable force in our starting line up
-preaching, prioritizing, and excelling at defense
-2 starting PG's who lead the league in AST/TO Ratio

I could go on and on and probably will add the stats that tell our story, but I want to put this out there...

Better than the 90's final teams with Ewing and co.

Better than the gritty 2000's teams with H20, Spree, Camby and co.

ANYONE WANT TO ARGUE THAT YOU'VE SEEN BETTER? NO YOU HAVEN'T.

Our older teams were overachievers and excelled at punishing teams on Defense. With the New NBA here we have a team that can compete legitimately.

*note this is not reactionary as I had this opinion weeks ago. Think about it... when was the last time we had the DPOY? Never.

The top 3pt shooter?

An unstoppable force? Perhaps B. King?

I told my cousin like I'll tell you... we can compete for the EAST.

Yeah Mark Jackson and Ewing, and Starks and all them old dudes were the sh*t, but they were not as good as this team. And understand we still haven't formed Voltron!

The Ewing led Knicks lacked the offensive firepower this team has. This Knicks team is more complete, maybe the best team in the NBA that anyone under 40 has ever seen. Including the 98 Bulls and 92 Dream Team. None of them could shoot 3's like us

I'll submit so too are Kidd and Melo.

I couldn't help thinking when Bron coasted down the center of the lane and yammed, I wished it was 93-94' and Oak was waiting for him. Bron would have ended up on his back staring at the ceiling and we would have had none of that. Aw the good old days.....

The playoffs is where you'll see most of that physical style of ball. Right now it's all about intensity and staying healthy. They will lay it all out (And probably another teams player) when the post season gets on the way.

Because hard fouls aren't allowed anymore. Tyson was right there, but thought better and parted like the red sea. If Tyson had put Lebron on his back like he should have, flagrant 2 and ejection. Then a hefty fine and having to hear David's Sterns fat lip. Then it leads Sportscenter and all the big mouths there call the Knicks a "dirty team". But that play started a mini-run that potentially could have changed the game, which is why you can't allow that stuff. Pains me to watch because I first became a Knicks fan because of there "no easy buckets philosophy," which is how we played at the rec back in the day

hmmm I guess i gotta think about this more before im ready to vote. I actually think the 99 Knicks might match up better with the current Knicks then the 94 Knicks would. I think the 99 Knicks had better guard play with Ward, Childs, Houston, and Sprewell. Perimeter defense would be key to beating the current Knicks.

Then we got Carmelo vs Anthony Mason, Mason wouldnt let Melo bull him around at all. But Carmelo is more mobile then Mason was, quicker and more athletic.

In the paint, i think the 94 Ewing would destroy this current Knicks team. For some reason i think he'd have no problem schooling Chandler and I actually think Sheed would do a better job defensively on Ewing.

Theres alotta things to look at here...

A different perspective would be to compare how each Knicks team did compared to other teams relative to their era's. But that sorta kills the thread, we'd have to wait to see how far this current team goes.

We can compare player to player, or position by position...

Or overall team vs team.

My main points for why we are better (not necessarily achieve more since that's relative to the competiton ala MJ)

- none of those teams had the DPOY
-and I disagree about guard play. Felt-Kidd-Prig is > Ward-Childs
-I alway thought H20 was one dimensional and I used to beg him to drive the ball and dunk for crying out loud, that's why Spree was the perfect compliment, b/c both did what the other couldn't regularly
-our depth. Although guys like Felt or Novak or even JR and Kidd arenkt perrinial scorers, anyone of them can drop 20 a game. The old teams didn't have that imo.

Pat Needed help and really it was too late when he got it. He is top 40 of all-time and carried us

But as a whole we have an unstoppable scorer surrounded by talented specialists. Novak lead the league in 3pt%, Shump was almost tops in steals.

I'm not sure if Ewing could drop 43 on the Celtics. I think the old teams the whole was greater than the individual parts, and we overachieved.

But IMO we never had the talent and potential like NOW. I think the time is NOW.

What it comes down to is yes, i am leaning towards this current Knicks team. And you had a great point about questioning if Ewing could drop 43 on Boston...probably this current Celtics team, actually im sure he could. But the Celtics from last year or 2 years ago, i dont think so.

I do think the DPOY stuff is overrated with Chandler. Ewing would easily be a DPOY candidate if he played now and I think he was a better defensive player then Chandler. Your right though, none of that matters. Its which team is better, not which center. Although breaking down individual matchups does help me see the whole picture more clearly. Im getting closer to the point where I will be ready to vote

most what we are missing is MSG network and Clyde that guy can give us more infos but ILP strems with MSG are so limited and Breen is only on ESPN/ABC

comparing current knicks with that 90s and earlier its simply we got no PG only Mark Jacskon was good enough but it was too short time and only John Starks was good @ 3s and look how many 3 pt shooters we have now. Camby and Herb are only player who remember 90s

there is no center in this league like Ewing Zo and Olajuwon so we are only missing real center.

defence anyway is still better in 90s knicks dont forget team with Larry Ewing Spree held 30 game opponents not archive 100 pts thats not easy even for Spurs but speed is current Knicks

8 sec violation
3 pt shoot fouls just 2 fts
clear path fouls
and some others.
abd there was no fast players in that times like now Durant Bron Wall Parker..........
