Don't like the way the Knicks are playing

Dirk was far from alone. Jason Terry won three playoff games virtually by himself.

Terry took bad shots as Smith. JR can give us 3 wins by high scoring too.
Kidd made passes in end of 4th qtrs only to Dirk. Mavs had better defense, but played this high level defense only in end of 3rd and 4th qtrs, the same as Knicks now. They had to come back from 10-15pts deficit few times. The difference is Dirk couldn't miss shot in offense, Melo isn't even clutch us JR this season. Melo can't score against good defenders, and Ibaka couldn't do anything against Dirk's offense. Melo has to step up, RS MVP isn't enough, he has to play high level offense against top defense.

I couldn't agree less. Terry took lots of open shots and Dallas had much Better guard play. That matters. Marion also made a huge impact. Dirk's shots were limited to what he was comfortable taking. Yes, he had a 50 point game, but most of those were against one on one coverage, actually, virtually all of them were.

Well defend to my Ibaka, he was only like 21 playing in the finals. He's overall a good defender, Dirk is unguardable when he's on.

As for Melo, he's shooting 37% this month. He can't do that in the playoffs. We'll see how he'll do during playoff time.

Felton coming back will be a major help, less wear and tear on JR and Melo. No one can penetrate and create 6 options like Felton can. When he comes barreling down the lane, he has everyone's attention.

I don't like Jason Kidd at PG. Hes a shooting guard now. He was much more effective for us and the team chemistry was much better when he was. We miss felton alot

Yup, fastbreak and Terry tries fast three not layup. He had a lot of bad shots, also was Mr. easy turnover. Terry was good in P&R played with Dirk.
Guards: Terry wasn't good defender (the same as Smith), Kidd played the same defense as today (SG-SF defense), Barea was flopper, Stevenson was a really good defender. I expected it from Brewer in Knicks, what Threevenson did in Mavs, but he's struggling now.
Dirk hadn't to score 50, he had to score all his shots in the end of game. Remember game vs OKC, when Dirk couldn't miss 5 shots in a row in the end of 4th qtr. He was really best in clutch in 2011.
Marion was best at perimeter defense and fastbreaks, hope Shump can give us it.
Mavs won because of chemistry and they were deep, we're deep too, and hope our chemistry from begin of the season will back. Dirk was the only ASG player in this team. Melo has to be better in closing games.

While I agree with your assessment to an extent, Prig and Kidd are pgs. They don't have to be the best creators - basically creating scoring opportunities out of thin air, the should jump start the offense. That can mean yelling out a play, calling out for a pick, setting screens (reminiscing how Stockton set some of the best screens for Malone) ... You get the point.

I played college basketball and we set flair screens, back screens, screened the screener. The Knicks did all of that the first two weeks and Melo had all these clean looks. Sure, use his one-on-one, but mix it, be less predictable.

And we should use Stat a lot more. And use JR a lot less. The Knicks were lucky to win last night.

:agreed::agreed::agreed:
Coach Sloan had so many different double/tripple screening plays for Stocton/Hornachek/and Malone to get easy scores, that the NBA best defensive coaches had no solution on how their SG always end up defending 6.9 Karl Malone with 10 seconds left on the shot-clock. So many NBA PG to this day has tried to copy-right Stocton's performance, but they forget to add in coach Sloan's team-ball movement.

Bingo.… u are on point, Kidd, Prig, and Felton dont call out any plays because every lineup Woodson put out on the court look like they never practice any screen-plays in practice with our most minute trio (Tyson/Melo/JR) .. we dont create well for others off the screen .. plus when any of our bigmen run out to set a high screen for the PG our other three teammates look like pityful statue on the peremeter .. to keep the turnovers down we dont pass to cutters or a moving teammate.
Our defense & rebounding are poor for one reason and one reason alone, Melo & JR not letting teammates in the offense...

PS .... I HATE the new update to KO :barf:

Lastnight game of Memphis vs Brooklyn .. Memphis humiliated Brooklyn 101 - 77 never givin Brooklyn a thought of a win.
Memphis high scorer of the game was not Gay, or Zach, or Conley, it was Mark Gasol for 20 points. Which makes the Memphis Grizzles a 10 times better TEAM than our ISO-Melo Knicks...

I'm sure we will be a more cohesive unit come playoffs. We still don't have that identity. Players are coming off injuries and otherz still trying to figure out when to step up when needed and when to fall back so others can assist. There are plenty of games left for them to figure this out. Best to get it out their system now....no worries here, not yet.

I mean the fact Gasol is a passing center makes their offense a lot more fluid. Chandler has never been a guy with passing skills, so Iso ball is pretty much occurring in our offense.

We should just go back to a normal starting 5. Playing 3 guards is really dumb. Josh Smith will be all over shumpert and kyle korver is way too big for jason kidd. Plus Amar'e has been great for us these past few games. We can use felton and him on the pick and roll. When you wanna spread the floor just put in novak and smith for shump and amare. We lost yesterdays game because our players are so out of position. Shumpert was a pg when he came in this league and woodson has him playing the sf? really?
Felton
Shump
Melo
Amar'e

Yeah, Terry shot threes, sometimes a lot, but his looks were a hell of a lot better than JR's. And he rarely shoots pull back jumpers over double teams. They are two very different players even though their roles are similar.
