I don't know why people said we should have signed another "big". How many "bigs" available can do a better job than Q-Rich? I rather Q-Rich defending guys a few inches taller than him than somebody who's much taller and bigger, but can't defend for various reasons such as not being good enough yet and lack of experience.

Yeah that's true....if Soloman Jones is amongst the best available bigs out there than were better off signing a vet like Q to have a true swing man other than Melo (who plays the 4 anyways).
Still rather have Brewer over Q and don't get why he was traded to open a roster spot when we still have White on the squad.......but what's done is done. Hope Q can still give us some solid minutes for a deep playoff run.

Yeah I feel Jones proved just adding a big was pointless. Better to add at a weakness and the Knicks had no defensive specialist swing man after letting brewer go (because the specialist needs to be able to shoot the 3).
On another note if none of the decent bigs fall to NY I am gonna say it again they should draft Reggie Bullock. He's a top defensive swingman in the NCAA who can shoot the 3 at a high pace....
But I digress. Q-Rich was a smart move the playoffs is all about matchups and mismatches and he could come in handy if the Knicks have to match up defensively with a swing player with a Anthony in foul trouble which will happen a few times at least during the playoffs.

You're missing the point. This isn't three years ago where we depend on q rich to start play 35 mins guard the other teams best player and be a focal point of our offense. This is woody in q riches ear saying. "Gimme 5 hard mins if you're open shoot w confidence and do whatever u can to disrupt Paul peirce lebron James etc etc rythym while we rest melo or Jr smith for a few possessions"

Just doesn't make sense to have a team of Anthony, Copeland, Richardson, Novak and White. Those are 5 natural small forwards...and most of them don't even play in their respected position. Copeland is playing PF/C and Anthony is playing PF...Novak plays center sometimes...like seriously? White looks like he can't even play any position...how will Richardson fit? Can we be realistic about this?
I only want Richardson in the game to punch Pierce and KG and call it a success ending to his career as a Knickerbocker.

Q Rich was always a fun Kninck to watch. He can come in with lower expectations this time and drop serious clutch buckets for us on the road to the championship.
He can knock down the long ball, he has a ton of experience, he's cool as a cucumber under pressure.
In a lot of ways, this is the best signing of the year.

If Kidd or Shump get hurt Richardson will be a good defender to fill their shoes. It cannot hurt

If people really can't understand this signing it baffles me.
Q Rich was a pretty awful player for the Knicks yes. Because he was playing close to 40 minutes, free to chuck as much as he wanted. When he left NY for Miami he was a key role player for them for quite some time.
Aggressive player, ok defender, decent 3pt shooter, experienced and able body. Nothing to complain about there.
