Who is the best defensive PG and how would you rate Felton?

Found this article on Bleacher Report on PG defensive rankings, it's interesting because they not only rate the PGs but breakdown the components of what went into the rankings like defensive plays per minute. Some of the highlights of the article for those that can't read it are:

Rajon Rondo is rated the best defensive PG in the NBA and I agree, though some think CP3 is better.
Felton is rated 40th of 46 PGs. That was surprising, always thought Ray was a middling defender but not bottom of the heap.
Jeremy Lin is rated 10. I didn't think he would be this high.

The article is in slide show format so if you want to see the list of 16-46 change the page number of the link below to 5. To see the rest you have to view each page.

Fundamentally Sound
Chris Paul is the best defensive point guard if you look at the full range of things he brings to the table. He has exceptional awareness, consistently puts forth the effort to stay in front of his man and he routinely leads the league in steals. 5 of the last 8 seasons he's lead the league in steals per.

Felton is not a good defender on the ball. He lacks lateral quickness.

Lin is a top 10 defender because he block shots, gets steals and has solid footwork defensively. Not by any means a lock down defender, but Jeremy is very active defensive and always contributes.

Ignore rono, he's just a huge CP3 fan.
Bradley and Conley are the best defensive PG's.

Schroeder will soon enter the top 15.

Paul has more intelligence and gets over screens better than Conley. Conley is quicker getting around the court on D but Paul plays smarter, Conley benefits from playing on squad that plays great team defense.

Bradley is still coming in to his own. It is a slap in the face to Paul to be compared to the likes of him. Stop it Metro.

Mike Conley gets second but Avery isn't rated in this article because he's mostly a SG. Glad he played the point in the first round against us because he is a terrible PG.

CP3 is rated #4 behind DRose.

This is the sort of thinking that would doom the Knicks. Good teams are not just about individual skills and some mathematical formula adding up the individual PERs.

Good teams play good team defense not good individual defense. Good teams share the ball and do not worry about scoring titles. Good teams give maximum individual effort for 20 minutes, not play hero ball for 35 minutes.

Great NBA Article
Here's my opinion of the 5 best top-D PG in order ....

1) Rondo has been the top-D PG in the league, under HC Doc Rivers, SG-Ray, SF-Pierce, and KG (tutorship), plus their strong strategic team-leadership. Rondo took the #1 spot from Chauncey Billups.

2) CP3 has been the 2nd top-D PG in the league, by having the quickest-wit of all PG. CP3 took the # 2nd spot from Jason Kidd.

3) Toney Parker has been the 3rd top-D PG in the league for a decade. Parker's creative D got better each season tandem with Ginobli in the backcourt. Having the best PF-Duncan and the best strategic HC Pop didnt hurt.

4) Mike Conley has been the 4th top-D PG in the league. Conley took the #4 spot from Derrik Fisher.

5) Westbrook has been the 5th top-D PG in the league since his rookie season.

The Best top-D starting-guards in the NBA has been D.Wade & James Harden, their defense on PG/SG/and SF has been outstanding in regular-season and postseason.

We all should know Lebron James has been ranking #1 as the top-D SF (point-foward) the past 7 seasons...

it Tony not Toney

Westbrook is best and fastest can steal ball anytime then automatic fastbreak its just talent

he can also easly reach 30pts each game.

Westbrook is mostly athleticism.

A guy like Mike Conley actually has footwork and can play lock down defense for years.

Conley will be a great defender even when he's 35, where as Westbrook won't have that athletic ability in his 30s and will be a lesser player.

If you watched the Rockets games the last two months of last season, for some inexplicable reason, Lin's defense faded..... Big time.... In the second game in Phoenix, Goran Dragic, the man who Lin replaced as starting PG on the Rockets, absolutely torched Lin.... For Lin's sake, I hope that stretch was a fluke. Lin is normally a good defender, but for the last two months of last season, he was awful defensively.

Wasn't he injured?
