On a connection note, Anthony Mason scored 7 points for the Nuggets while Kiki Vandeweghe contributed with 17 for the Knickerbockers.
November 14, 2013 In an old fashion-type shootout, New York fell short as the Houston Rockets outlasted the Knicks 109-106 at Madison Square Garden. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 45 points-the most ever scored by a Knick versus the Houston Rockets- and 10 rebounds over 44 minutes for a doubledouble. Andrea Bargnani posted 24 points on 9-12 shooting over 33 minutes. J.R. Smith added 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists over 39 minutes. Houston was paced by James Hardens 36 points and nine rebounds over 42 minutes. Chandler Parsons recorded 22 points and Jeremy Lin off the bench added 21 points. December 17, 2012 Without the services of Carmelo Anthony (sprained left foot), Amar’s Stoudemire (left knee debridement), Iman Shumpert (torn ACL and meniscus), Rasheed Wallace (sore left foot) and Marcus Camby (sore left foot), Houston took advantage of New York’s injuries as they took complete control of the game and handed the Knicks their first loss of the season in the Garden defeating New York 109-96 at the Garden. New York was led by Chris Copeland’s career high 29 points on 11-19 shooting, five rebounds and two steals over 28 minutes. J.R. Smith posted 17 points on 7-13 from the field. Pablo Prigioni and Raymond Felton each added 14 points. Houston was lead by James Harden’s 28 points and 10 rebounds over 38 minutes. Jeremy Lin in his first game back at Madison Square Garden recorded 22 points, eight assists and four rebounds over 39 minutes
