Default Rondo for Stoudemire discussion .. 7 days to Deadline

Rondo .. also following the road to New York !!!!!

Despite the consistent claims from Celtics general manager Danny Ainge that Rondo isn’t available, the Knicks have a strong belief that he can be had if – in a nod to another show – the price is right. They can offer the likes of Amar’e Stoudemire (one season remaining after this one, at $23.4 million) while taking future money back (such as Gerald Wallace and/or Jeff Green) and helping Ainge clear the way for the summer of 2015 that is known to be a priority of his.

That summer is a major priority for the Knicks, too, but it appears the Rondo scenario is one of the few, if not the only, where they’d consider the impact of his addition great enough to justify taking on some money from that point on. The Knicks can include Raymond Felton (a much cheaper point guard option) or Iman Shumpert (rookie contract) and even discuss beloved rookie Tim Hardaway Jr.

I could see a lineup of Rondo/Shump/and THJ running a SSOL for 7 straight minutes ..
I dont see JR/Melo/and Tyson in any uptempo transition past 2 minutes.
Hold on! ...is Rondo 75% healthy?????

YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TRADE IF IT'S POSSIBLE

rondo, while an injury risk, gives us the BEST POSSIBLE CHANCE at an EFFECTIVE POINT GUARD,

if you look at the odds, you take that, because we haven't had a point guard in like 20 years

i really don't see this happening. i believe this thread and the Russel Westbrook thread are both culled from the hopes and opinions of writers who have too much time on their hands, and are smoking too much kind in their pipe dreams.

No one is trading for Amare.

Amare may not even have a career after his contract expires.

Knicks have Shump and Hardaway Jr. as tradeable assets. That is it.

If the Knicks were to trade for Rajon Rondo, the Boston Celtics would ABSOLUTELY want Amare Stoudemire.

The trade would include a swap of STAT for Gerald Wallace in a major cap saving move for Boston. The deal wont be done otherwise.

    THJ-STAT-2018 for Rondo-Wallace is absolutely 100% possible.

The Thunder would be the 3rd team in this scenario and it'd actually really help us. The Thunder possess a 1st from Dallas that would go to Boston in return they'd get Tyson and CAP space. They are really strong on Tyson at the moment this is why it works. The new deal would be then

    Boston: 2014 1st-2018 1st-THJ-STAT+CAP
    OKC:Tyson + CAP
    New York: Rondo-Wallace-Perkins.

Shumpert could very well be package with Tyson to OKC if they want more but he could be swung to Denver for Faried now that Nate the Great is hurt.

    Rondo
    JR
    Melo
    Faried
    Perkins

Obviously I'm not the GM and knowing us, we wont do anything. But these are 100% possible moves.

You're a clown. This is absolutely possible. The only part that is near impossible is the Faried trade.

Dont sleep on Amare .... giving Amare to Boston could also be handing the Atlantic Division title to Boston.
Boston's 18-34 record has a good chance of swingin Wiggins in the draft ..
plus rotating Amare in a frontline with Sullinger, Bass, and Green would have Amare playing 70+ games next season for another contract.
    +
Dolan's not going to let Amare embarrassed him with a all-star season on the next team.

I was reading an article on Yahoo about Jeff Green possibly going to the Hawks and the writer said the Knicks were "delusional" in thinking they could acquire Rondo.

You're dealing with Danny Ainge maybe the smartest GM in the NBA and you think that he would ever trade Rondo for Stat, he's going after draft picks to pick up young talent and for their trade value when he pulls the trigger on a marquee player.

Can you really see him picking up Stat as his franchise player.

    HE'S NOT THE FRANCHISE PLAYER.

THJ would be the talent they get in return, a 1st round pick would be for their rebuild and STAT would be a swap for Gerald Wallace because STAT will be a great piece to have next season due to his contract. Wallace's contract is awful and the Celtics want to get rid of him. STAT believe it or not, is one of the reasons the deal could be done, he's a positive not a negative. Rondo is not untouchable, we could absolutely get him. Did you honestly EVER think the Celtics would trade Paul Pierce, anyone is movable.

Our biggest downfall is that James Dolan is our owner because the front office is the only thing keeping us from making this trade.

If a Stat to Boston trade goes down we would become 2nd to Boston in the Eastern Conference.
Was Stat the Franchise Player in Phoenix? HELL YEAH!
Was Karl Malone the franchise Player in Utah? HELL YEAH!
Having a high IQ pass-first PG Nash & Stocton hitting a slashing Stat or Malone for inside scoring, open up perimeter shooters to shoot or pass to Stat or Malone 10 feet from the basket.
Stat is still one of the dangerous bigmen in the game when he receive the ball 10 feet from the basket.
Once Melo arrive we been giving Stat the ball 20 to 25 feet away from the basket, we throw alley-oops to Tyson, never to Stat.

We dont want to see "Stat & Green" play above the rim B.Ball next season in Boston.
Dont forget Boston defensive bigmen "Bass/Sullinger/Olynyk" will be playing for a new contract next season.

Why is it so crazy for Ainge to want STAT in a trade?

If they're moving Wallace's contract at $10M and Rondo at $12M...that's $22 million...

Bring in STAT's $21 million, and you can amnesty $21-$23 million right off of the books...

This is the NBA..not NBA 2K. Boston has the picks from Brooklyn, and if they can get more young pieces, and damn near a third off the salary cap off of their books in one felt swoop...they're gonna at least consider it.

Too often, people are looking at the game from a "on-the-court" standpoint, and their opinions are based on half the info.

I had to stop reading after the above highlighted comment ....
Danny Ainge became the #1 dum-dum GM in the NBA when TimberWolves Fired Mchale ..
Ainge had nothing to do with building the Big-3 in Boston however, Ainge had a lot to do with the destruction of the Big-3 in Boston, rather than build a young cheap supporting cast around the aging Big-3.
When Pierce asked to be traded in 2007-8, upstair-brass took over the operation by calling in old debts in the 2008 offseason. Yes, Ainge receive all the credit. When Ainge didn't give assistant-coach Thib a extension contract in the 2009 offseason when HC Doc and the Big-3 kept praising Thib presence for their championship season.
I will put it like this "Doc & Thib" equal HC Pop.

If u could recall Boston was the top 2 contender team all season, until they made the trade for Jeff Green.
The Knicks would be insane to pick up Gerald Wallace $30M contract for 3 years.
Gerald Wallace manage to have his 3 previous teams put him on the trading-block, after a half of a season.
