Phil to Knicks: Personnel changes coming

Knicks president Phil Jackson and owner James Dolan addressed the Knicks after their final game on Wednesday, a Knicks player confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com.

While Jackson commended the team for its effort and complimented coach Mike Woodson, he made it clear that there would be personnel changes this summer, the player said.

?He credited Woody," said the player. "But he also said that there?s going to be changes, some of us won?t be in this room next year.?

The player said Jackson told the Knicks that they owed a lot of gratitude to head coach Mike Woodson. The player also said Jackson indicated that the team needed to start ?thinking differently? and thinking about ?what we can do to contend? for a title.

Jackson and Dolan?s postgame speeches were first reported by the New York Daily News.

Dolan, who told staffers on the eve of the season that he felt the Knicks could contend for an NBA title, told the players on Wednesday that he was ?disappointed by the season, that he had higher expectations,? the player said.

?He said we left the fans wanting more,? the player said.

The player said Dolan added the Knicks "have to start thinking about a championship and he told us that it starts [Thursday]. It was a great speech."

Woodson was in the room for the speech, according to the player. But his future with the Knicks is unclear.

While it is widely believed that the Knicks have already made the decision to move on from Woodson, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Friday that nothing will be announced this weekend.

Woodson's fate is likely to be announced early next week.

Sources close to the situation told ESPN?s Marc Stein that Woodson is "bracing" for the worst, especially after the Knicks conducted exit interviews with players Thursday without the coach present.

It is thought, however, that Woodson has not been told of his fate.

Regarding the offseason changes Jackson mentioned, the Knicks aren't expected to have much of an opportunity to re-shape the roster this summer.

Even if free-agent-to-be Carmelo Anthony signs with another team, the Knicks still will be over the salary cap thanks to the contracts for Andrea Bargnani ($11.5 million in 2014-15), Amar'e Stoudemire ($23.4 million) and Tyson Chandler ($14.6 million).

It's been 3 days from the Knicks last regular season game (4-16), and Mike Woodson has not been FIRED.

The Knicks are sitting on a lot of expensive $$$ ONE year contracts in the offseason.

NBA wizard Phil Jax wont have any problems moving any if not all of the Knicks 15 player roster.
Why do reporters keep writing it will be hard to move Knicks players?
The Phoenix Suns 48 win season without making the playoffs would welcome Amare 1 year contract back.
The Denver Nuggets 36 win season would trade for Bargani 1 year contract.
The NBA has a few teams that would trade for Tyson 1 year contract.
Carmelo Anthony is a complicated problem a lot of NBA GM want no problem dealing with.
ISO-Melo is not a coachable-player

Sounds like Tyson is the player dropping these tidbits

Yeah Buddy ....
When a double-double 4 blocks Marcus Camby spoke-out in Denver, he was traded the next month to the Clippers for the Clippers garbage players. When Allen Iverson spoke-out about the Camby trade he also was traded.
The two Nuggets players forgot that the Denver GM that made them a Denver Nuggets was previously fired by the same source that got them traded.
Dolan's a idiot when it comes to building a NBA contender basketball team.

I thought that's why you hire a gm???

A lot of owners like to over-step their boundaries as a owner, it's done in every business.

The Dallas Mavs owner Cuban has always over-stepped his boundaries as a owner, bc he is a die-hard NBA fan.

The Knicks owner James Dolan are a spoiled golden-spoon brat that inherited several different million dollar companies his father placed presidents in charge of. Checkett was president when James Dolan inherited the Knicks.
James Dolan admitted a million times he's clueless of basketball, but he own a Basketball Franchise worth $600M or more. And yes, there's thieves in basketball, the biggest thieves are in the GM department.
When a team keep trading/selling their draft-picks the money is going to the owner, or in the GM pocket.
We all know Bargani was not worth a future first-round pick. Glen Grunwald was busted!!!
Giving away draft picks to trade Jared Jefferies $6M contract was the long rope that gave-up Donnie Walsh 2010 No Plan.

This is why Dolan want to keep his spies in the Knicks organization:
Getting a bi-weekly paycheck from the Knicks organization for 15 years for being Dolan spy ..
Mills, Herb Williams, Allan Houston, Etc.

I'm sure all of Dolan's private phone lines were ringing off the hook all day Monday.
Phil Jax are giving out pink-slips, and final paychecks. LMAO
Example: Herb Williams has been the top assistant HC under 4 differ GM, and 6 differ head-coaches.

Next season, keep waiting
A good place to start is with teams that are over the cap for 2015 (of which there will be about 10 teams), then look to move Amare, Tyson or Bargnani. The downside is this will most certainly cut into our cap for 2015, but the upside is we become potentially more competitive one year earlier. I am certain if Steve Kerr coaches Amare will be moved. Kerr was pretty clear that he knew Amare's knees were a liability.

:2cents:
I think the opposite, if Steve Kerr come to NY to Coach/GM, he will keep Amare one year contract.
Kerr gain quick success as a GM with Rookie Amare .. "Amare & Marion, then Amare & Grant Hill".
Kerr lost his GM position in Phoenix, bc Dantoni didnt want to add Thibs to the coaching staff, which made the owner of the Phoenix Suns come from behind close doors when he found out "the NBA BIG franchise Shaq was on the trading-block". And the owner traded the Phoenix Suns Player/Coach/discipline-Leader Shawn Marion for Shaq.
The Phoenix Suns players, coaches, and GM were all surprise-surprise at the move...

Watching the Postseason games, the underdog Blazers are 2-0 in Houston over the Rockets.
The 3rd game will be at the Blazers Home stadium in Portland.
If the Blazers win the 3rd game in Portland they will be 3-0 in the series.

The big RUMOR trade that been mention on/off throughout the season of the Houston Rockets trading "Asik, Parsons, Lin" may go down this offseason.
Should the Knicks President Phil Jackson jump on this trade for the Rockets players?
The Rockets are 0-2 in the series vs Blazers for reasons of the Rockets star player "James Harden" has taken a step downward in his level of performance in the postseason games .. the Blazers combo-guard Lillard has been making Rockets combo-guard Harden look like the 2nd season player...

The Rox might be swept, if that happens you can expect changes starting with a coaching change.

Oscar Robertson was saying on Sirius radio that if he was Melo he would go to Houston and not put up with the crap in NY.

Maybe we can take advantage of that if the Rox go after Melo aggressively in the off-season, they would have to deal some guys to get Melo and Asik is as good as gone, Parsons is up for a big raise coming off his rookie contract and Lin has worn out his welcome down in Houston.

If Melo takes the advice of the Big O we should do a deal of Parsons, Asik and Lin in a SnT for Melo.
