Knicks Free Agency Thread - Non-Melo

Ridiculous contract like Hayward's but these guys are restricted so you're playing chicken to see if the Rox and Jazz match the contracts.

It's such a time sensitive situation for the Rockets. They are waiting on Melo and Bosh(more so him) but Lebron's decision has to be final first(apparently he's already told the Heat he's going back to Cleveland) before they make theirs. Problem is Rox only have 72hrs to match otherwise they either let Parsons go or they match and his new deal immediately eats up the cap space they have. Right now his has a very small cap hit, therefore allowing the Rox to sign a Max Player.

For their sakes, hopefully Lebron's decision is final tonight.

On several levels, I take satisfaction that having Lin on their roster in what for us would have been his poison pill year is making free agency difficulty on Morey during this offseason.

GREAT satisfaction in that Morey has to swallow his own poison pill. what a complex situation to be in, whether to match Parsons, keep Lin, free up space or remain the same. suck on that poison pill!

I pegged the team to be Philly but nevertheless Morey had options lined up. Lakers get a pick, foreign prospect, and cash....We got jack squat for him. Grunwald sheesh man sheesh.
Morey was desperate. Sent Lin a first and a second pick to LA for cash and a foreign prospect. Let's see if Morey can can sign Bosh and match the Mavs for Parsons all by Sunday. The Asik deal still isn't finalized and he's got to move another player to get Bosh his 88M.

Lin should do great in LA with Blake and Farmar gone.

Bosh reportedly signing with heat... Could rockets become players for melo..

with Bosh going back to Heat, that once again f*cks with Morey's head. they'd have to sign the big-money player before they match Parsons, as they can go over the cap to match his salary, but if they sign him first they won't have the money to sign a big time player. if they're indeed going thru with Lin to Lakers, they'll have same team as last year, minus Asik and Lin. houston's gonna be scrambling to sign someone within 72 hours of Parsons offer sheet from Mavs... tough titties

Paul Pierce to the Wizards. What a train wreck that team is going to be, Kidd knew how incompetent King is first hand and that's why he demanded authority over him.

You mean the Nets being a train wreck I assume. Yeah, the Nets report is that they wanted to develop their young players instead of keeping Pierce, y'know, because the Nets have such a strong track record of developing young guys.

They aren't going to be a train wreck assuming they can stay healthy. Lionel Hollins will prove to be a major difference maker, they acquired Jack and some young pieces(kid from Oky State looks every bit as talented as our Cearl Juice). Lionel probably gets a lot out of Lopez and Garnett like he did Z-Bo and Gasol. They probably win the same amount of games 42-45gms.

Knicks signed Jason Smith today for 1 year, 3 million or so. Backup center for the Pelicans with plenty of injury problems, but he is a 7 footer and comes at pretty much the bare minimum for which we were going to get any kind of guy who could play center.

Good signing but he took this deal because we gave him all of our TPMLE.
