NYDN -- Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. was selected Friday to practice with the U.S. national team during its training camp in Las Vegas that begins July 28.

Hardaway has been outstanding for the Knicks in the Vegas summer league and his inclusion on the select team is the first step toward being invited to the national team pool.

The U.S., which will play two exhibition game at Madison Square Garden next month, will be headed to the FIBA World Cup in Spain in late August.

Hardaway averaged 10.2 points as a rookie last season.

He was absolutely dominant offensively in summer league play, practically scoring at will. It's time for our franchise to go all in with THJ as a scoring option behind Melo this year.

I agree, that he should be more involved... Hopefully they get Melo behind the possibility to feed off of THJ, so it takes the pressure off Anthony from having to do it all himself... This will allow a better flow offensively while allowing other player(s) also to shine... But we all know Melo will make sure he is the center of attention, well when he is on the court of course...
