Game Thread - New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics - February 25, 2015

Counting down the final 27 games of this season like a prisoner making marks on the wall of his cell to indicate how many days until he is released. We've won 10 out of 55 and that was before we traded, bought out, released, and sent to the injured list the best players on this roster. Boston has a new look with Isiah Thomas part 2 and definitely does not want to let our motley crew take them down. Hoping to see lots of Early tonight, but starting to think he is too lost out there to benefit at all from the minutes.

Calderon, Galloway, THJ, Jason Smith, and Amundson start the game. Makes sense, they are in theory our best 5 players on the roster at the moment.

Sounds crazy to say but our bigs, while not talented, play hard and compete on both ends of the court on every play. Our guards/perimeter players don't seem to necessarily do this. Galloway is maybe the one backcourt/wing player on the roster right now who seems to play hard up and down the floor every play.

Interesting. Bargs and Acy are first two off the bench, in for Amundson and Jason Smith. Playing very small right now.

Shved playing his first minutes here as a Knick in the late 1st quarter. He is wearing Stat's #1. Our team is a dream come true for irrelevant players. If you can do anything special, you will get major minutes.

THJ with 8 points on 4 of 5 shooting. Second straight game he has had a great 1st quarter. Let's see if he does anything in the next 3 quarters.

Galloway blocks Isiah at the 3-point line to close out the 1st quarter and preserve our 2 point lead. Guys are playing hard, even Bargs.

Bargs, Acy, Early, Calderon, and Shved start the 2nd quarter. If you predicted that lineup at the beginning of the season as a quarter starter then you must own a time machine.

Nice defensive play by Early to intercept the cross court pass and then goes coast to coast for an easy layup. Boston looks flat (and bad) and we are taking advantage with a 6 point 2nd quarter lead.

Bargs is fired up. Demanding the ball in the low post and attacking the hoop to draw fouls. For the first time, he is showing signs of someone playing for his career.

Jason Smith trips on a low post move and ends up shooting a shot from way behind the hoop that hits the back of the backboard...and he gets fouled on the play to go to the line. Even he is laughing at how stupid that play was.

Nice running commentary Htr10. Bargs and Shved are fighting for their NBA lives. Up hill battle for both guys though Bargs can't stay healthy and Shved is a career 36% shooter, my bet is both are in Europe next year.

Jason Smith already with 12 points and 10 rebounds less than 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. He also has 4 assists. I think Smith should be part of our plan for next season, but if he's not, I don't wonder if he wouldn't have been worth a late 1st round pick to a contending team at the deadline.

Up by 6 almost halfway through the 3rd quarter. Celtics bench whispering to each other 'when do these guys start tanking?'
