Knicks make QO to Langston...

Word is deal with NOAH contigent in KD... Biyambo the backup target (mozgov & mihimi too).

NYK will talk with batum at midnight... Have interest in Crawford, courtney lee, and Eric Gordon.
Read also that PJ is going to try to talk Noah down to 15M to have more cap space for other signings. PJ just might screw this up with all these conditions

Everyone needs to remember... Cap is jumping from 70 to 90 million... For instance... ROLO at 13 mil, when cap is 70 mil, is the same % of cap allocation as Noah this year, with 18 mil.... when cap is at 94 million.

In other words, all these contracts are going to be insane... The smart GMs will avoid committing 4-6 years.

Welp Noah looks like he's getting 4yrs and I bet it's high $70s...especially if Lakers give Mozgov 4yrs $65mil which is the rumorville. Here's the first shoe drop on Noah's money

Lots of risk going 4 years in NOAH, but that's the reality of the market this year... Cap jumped from 79 to 94 million... Barnes might get a max deal... Mozgov might get 4/65...

PJ can't lose Noah over, in essence, petty cash in this free agent market. Noah is the perfect match: a winner, a leader, passionate, and has the IQ and passing skills to play C in the triangle.

Don't like the 4 year deal, but lots of us felt it was overpaying to go 15 for 4 on ROLO... but that was a bargain and a tradeable contract... If Noah is healthy.. NYK could easily trade him next year... when salary cap will rise again.

Now... Remember... MLE should reach 10 mil... NYK will be able to snag 2 more free agents, plus sign 2 of their own.

ORLANDO, Fla. ? Derrick Rose?s words have already resonated with center Joakim Noah. Now Rose is trying to sway shooting guard Eric Gordon to reunite with him in New York.

According to an NBA source, Rose has reached out to Gordon, the free-agent shooting guard who?s had injury issues, but is the best 3-point shooter on the market.

Another NBA source told The Post the Knicks? interest in the 6-foot-4 Gordon is gaining heavy traction within the organization as they desperately search for an affordable starting shooting guard.

Rose and Garden have a nice history ? once called ?The Eric and Derrick Show.? Rose and Gordon were teammates on a Chicago-based AAU team, called the Mean Streets Express. Some still regard it as the best backcourt tandem in AAU history.

?We just played well together,? Gordon said in 2011. ?At that time, we just wanted to show people that we?re trying to be the best out there. We jelled together. We both played up-tempo games and loved to attack the basket.?

That?s what coach Jeff Hornacek is hoping to do this season. Gordon?s 3-point shooting percentage across the past three years is 40.9 percent ? one of the leaders among shooting guards. The red flag is Gordon, 27, hasn?t played more than 65 games in a season because of nagging injuries.

?He?s a scorer and shooter,? Rose once said of Gordon. ?I was just feeding him. He made my job easy. We really had a great time. I?m still friends with him and his dad.?

Gordon (Indiana) and Rose (Illinois) both won the title of Mr. Basketball in their respective states and became lottery picks in 2008. Rose was the No. 1 pick by his hometown Bulls. Gordon got snatched by the Clippers at seven.

A source said, Gordon has interest in the Knicks, who have a lot of shooting-guard options, including Courtney Lee, Kent Bazemore, Evan Turner and Chandler Parsons. But he?s on their radar.

The Knicks reportedly are setting up a meeting with Turner but he was higher on their radar before the Rose trade. Hornacek now prefers a knockdown shooter and Turner is hardly that.

A source said, Bazemore first wants to speak with his Hawks before meeting with anyone else.

Cleanthony Early, the Knicks? 2014 second-round pick, who suffered a left hamstring strain in the first summer-league practice Wednesday, sat out Thursday?s sessions. His status for the summer league is up in the air. He?s a free agent who likely will be in training camp but could have to fight for a roster spot.

DeMar DeRozan has decided to re-sign with the Toronto Raptors on a reported five-year contract worth at least $139 million.
He met with the Raptors at the start of free agency and Toronto quickly closed the deal, giving the two-time All-Star just a shade below the full max -- his full max would have been $153 million. DeRozan had a disappointing postseason, but the free agency crop at guard is very thin, and the move keeps Toronto's improving roster intact. He will turn 27 in August, so the Raptors will get him at the tail end of his prime.

Good move by TOR, bc it's hard for them to lure free agents to Canada. But... wOW! DD is a very good player... but he's not elite... Not a Max... Melo was laughed at for not leaving much money on the table... he took 120 something mil... But DD just signed for almost 28 mil a year! Hey now... Then again, MOZ just got 4/64z

Unrestricted free agent Eric Gordon "has emerged as Knicks' top perimeter target," according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The report adds the sides are "starting to discuss parameters of a possible deal." Derrick Rose reportedly reached out to Gordon, who joins Rose with a slew of injuries in his last few seasons. The Knicks are reportedly going to throw a lot of money at Joakim Noah, but the good news is they'll get some help at their two biggest needs. Gordon would lose fantasy value with the Knicks compared to last season.

-----

Free agent Lance Thomas has reportedly been contacted by the Hawks, Nets, Timberwolves and Thunder.

The Knicks are interested in retaining Thomas, but they might not be able to afford him with the probable arrival of Joakim Noah and an emphasis on finding a starting-caliber shooting guard. With multiple teams already vying for his services, Thomas is sure to benefit from this summer's huge salary-cap spike.

Rose, Noah, & Gordon are big injury risks... But... Let's remember... 2 years ago... Kerr said he would take LEbron, Durant, then Noah... If he could pick 1 active player to battle with in a game 7.

And both Rose & Gordon are only 27...

If all 3 play 65 games... We have legit chance to get to, and possibly even win, Eastern Conf Title...

Best backcourt we've had, if true, since late 90s... All 3 are warriors too. And, all 3 could easily play quality ball for next 3 years.

Perception is funny... If Melo signed with Bulls... That was a potential title contender. Sure, NYK don't have Thibbs or Butler... But, it's going to be a riot as many begrudgingly say NYK is now a 7th seed or something.

Finally, we can see once and for all what Melo is all about. He now has the talent (if true)... Go lead this team to the Finals.

Fast FWD to Next April... Everybody is hurt... We win 32 games... I eat my toes

But... It always admired the game Rose, Gordon, Noah played... With KP, and hopefully a vet MLE... I'm excited.

If the difference between Noah and Mozgov is about 7 million spread out over a 4 year contract, I can't complain about the contract Noah is getting.

As expected, the increase in salary cap is making the contracts balloon more and more. This is going to give a huge competitive advantage to any team whose star free agents are willing to take less money to win, but I've yet to see anyone look like they are doing that so far.

The blockbuster deal of the off-season. The guy has never been an all-star, never led the league in scoring.

Said all along they were going to resign and we had no shot. Quoted their GM directly mos before free agency stating they would follow through on their plan. Good for Conley way overpaid but I'm not mad. He was a bargain for at least half the time of his last deal which was 5yrs $45mil.
