The New Knicks

Well sports fans the NYKnick's have been playing great basketball as of late. The team is currently on a 4 game winning streak for the first time this season. Jamal Crawford coming off the bench and getting comfortable has left him starting to revive memories past of ole number 8 in the Garden. The treacherous 3 of Robinson, Frye, and Lee has not only rejuvenated the Knicks but revitalized the franchise as well with much needed excitement and hope. Eddy Curry finally in great full health has been a presence in the middle for the Knicks on the cusp of what we havent seen in the Garden till the glory days of Patrick Ewing. The famous Knick defense has greatly improved under Larry Brown as well vover the last 4 games turnovers have decreased sharply. The team also over the last 6 games has had the consistent lineup of Curry,Davis,Lee,Marbury, and Robinson and given the Knicks form and consistency.

With the recent wins over Seattle, Phoenix, Washington, and Cleveland the Knicks are starting to play up to their talent level and are really begining to take shape and mesh. The New Knicks 4th quarters have been one reason for this excelllent turn around as well. Hanging in there playing tough and closing out games. Which would leave one to be optimistic about April and May perhaps maybe there is a playoff spot in there..? Playoffs?? Playoffs?? Yes I know but if this team keeps it up it could be the reincarnation of that 1999-2000 8th seed team that went to the Finals. This is New York City....anything is possible But perhaps the biggest reason for the New Knicks success has been the the play of Stephon Marbury. Over the last 4 games Marbury has averaged 23.3 pts, 48% FG shooting, 10.3 assts, and an amazing 2.2 turnovers. Indeed the steady play and leadership of Steph has the Knicks back on track and rolling in Gotham City. Looks like our "Starbury" is growing up and becoming the point guard we were all waiting to see. He's come along way since Coney Island and the boy from Brooklyn is now on the path to becoming the "best point guard in the NBA"....move over Steve Nash because Steph is coming for that number 1 spot.

Rotation player
U can add the Mavs to thelist of victoms, we are now winners of 5 straight. And seeing how we play the hawks and raptors next, Expect us to go 7-0 on this winning streak

The Knicks can definately make the playoffs because of the recent streak.
Chi currently has the 8th spot @ 15-20. We can take them no problem. I think we can even reach .500. Making the p/o this would be such a confidence builder for this young team. I was looking for the to make a difference next year. I am definately getting excited again about Knick Bastetball!!!!! : :jump: :afro:

Rookie
59 dishes in the last five games sounds nice. but i think a guy with the potential like stephon has to average about about nine or ten assists... everyone knows that stephon is at his best when he takes it the basket and kicks it out or finishes by himself... the more he penetrates the better it is for the team... you also have to notice he committed only a few turnovers ...

Knick ball is once again fun to watch and we are being praised on tv rather then laughed at. Congrats to brown and the team :afro:

The Streak Stopped

Well sports fans and my KNICK brethren we've dropped the last two games in a row. But dont hit that panic button just yet folks...weve still won 6 out of the last 8 games...thats 75% and for the way this teams been since 2003 thats saying alot these days. The game in Toronto was an absolute disater in every sense of the word. Couldnt play defense...score...keep the ball....or even get a good call at any point in the game. Now im not one to blame officials for anything they simply enforce the rules nothing more. However it has comes to my attention after watching that debacle that they were not calling the game fair at both ends of the courts. Fouls that were not fouls were called and ones that were actual fouls were not called. Just a really weird game from start to finish. And sometimes thats just the way the cookie crumbles.....

The next game on MLK day at the Garden versus the T'Wolves the Knicks in true knick fashion made it a thriller going down the stretch. Playing matador D allt he way up and through the 3rd quarter. The Knicks came back with avengance in the 4th quarter to cut the lead at one point in the game which had reached 19 down to 4 points. Channig Frye nails a big jumper with less than 2 mins to go....Twolves bring it up bad shot we get the rebound outlet pass the Jamal ....tries to hit Frye and turns it over. Just completely missed the open man and the pass went awry. Sometimes there's just nothing you can do about those fluke plays. Later on Nate "Inch High" Robinson brings us back hitting a couple of clutch free throws. Then what plauged the Knicks all season came about...just been having trouble defending the simplest play in basketball..the pick and roll with Garnett and Hudson..bang he hits a three...down by 5 with 2 sec's left. Game over. But they didnt give up like they did in the previous game...and it showed me something. Going to Chicago this Wednesday night...feels almost like old times now doesnt it?

The Knicks with the exception of the Toronto game found their essence. Which is leading the league in offensive rebounding and playing with that never say die attitude. Staying in the game at all times. Making clutch baskets down the stretch. We have regained what we were always about atleast a small fragment of that. Hustle and Heart. After all hey we are New Yorkers...we expect a show for our money. And finally the Knicks atleast it seems have made it back to the stage.

The Streak Stopped

Well Knicks fans weve been dropping games faster than Paris Hilton's been dropping boyfriends....but right now I think the hand is over the panic button but not quite time to hit it just yet.

The Knicks have been without the engine that runs that team..#3...And no im not talking about Mr. 2 for 17 John Starks in the 94 finals that cost all of us a title that year...but the other #3 Stephon Marbury. With Steph in the lineup we are shooting 52% from the field...without steph we are shooting a meger 38%...with steph we are averaging 8 more assts per contest...and 14 more points per game...but perhaps even more amazingly 4.6 less turnovers...and when talking about the KNICKS...we all know how TO control is a big deal for us.

With the loss the other night to the Kings we played hard and took the game in OT. Shows we got guts and thats going to count for something later down the line...especially since things after the fabled All Star break can become a drastic team turn around for us. Still the only 8th seed to make it to an NBA Finals...so " You gotta believe". Now getting blown out by the Pistons...without Steph and AD the Knicks we all knew were trying to fill a tall order. But Eddy Curry is looking absolutley fabolous...hes in shape..all the nagging injuries seem to have disapated...and looks like he may one day if he ever gets a jump shot together...he may and I say may.....create us to have dreams of the legendary number #33 Patrick Ewing...

The Thrill Aint Gone Yet...Baby

Well Knicks fans we are now in an 0-10 slump....and the Knicks are currently a total record of 14-37....yes youre reading that right 14-37....the worst season we've ever had was 21-59 way back in 1962-1963 season....there is a very real chance this could become the work Knick team ever....winning less than 20 games in a season...this season could very well be known as the worst New York Knick team of all time...and the ironic part would be with probably the 3rd greatest coach in Knick's history..only behind Holtzman and Wilkens...(remember him)....

However there is hope upon the horizon....it breaks my heart to say this but...we could very well have a real chance at landing the #1 overall pick via the lottery come this off-season...if in fact we do go out as the worst team in the NBA this season....im not saying KNICKS never play hard because we do...but the inconsistency has killed us..and Steph is not returning anytime soon....as well he shouldnt....on another note the sad thing is that at last check we are still less than 15games out of the division and we have 32 games left so there is a glimmer of hope left for our boys in Orange White and Blue.
You more hope...NO....just kidding more hope for that we rade the rumor mill....according to a source....

Our Knicks are close to a deal where the basis would have basically....

Kenyon Martin, Earl Watson & Voshon Lenard going to NY
Jamal Crawford, Nene & Trevor Ariza going to Orlando
Steve Francis going to Denver

Frye will not be part of this and theres many combinations going around this trade...Isiah is trying not to use the expiring contract of Penny Hardaway in this deal because a trade for Lamar Odom is still a possibility (or another big name which i wont speak of until clearified but a good one)...stay tuned i know were losing but this is all good news for our new york knicks

So lets keep our fingers crossed and look past this season not at the mistakes weve made and how sorry we are right now...but that once you hit a low point as we are right now....you can only go up....

And it could be worse....we could all wake up one day and be Celtics fans....
