    Default Darko Project: Take Two

It's done. F/C Darko Milicic & PG Carlos Arroyo were sent by the Pistons to the Magic for C/F Kelvin Cato & a 2007 first round pick.

Cato is an expiring contract. Cato will help Detroit clear way to resign Ben Wallace and Chauncey Billups.

Arroyo will help make Francis easier to trade. Darko will help Orlando keep the bench warm.

From the official Magic Press Release...

“This deal allows us the opportunity to pick up a young, big in Darko (Milicic) and a true point guard in Carlos (Arroyo),” said Smith. “We look forward to their contributions to our ball club and wish Kelvin all the best.”

Nice statement from the GM, seems to have a sense of reality...but then...

"This gives us the opportunity to acquire a seven-footer with a HIGH SKILL LEVEL,” said Magic Head Coach Brian Hill. “We feel that he will be a nice complement playing alongside Dwight Howard. In Carlos, we get a true point guard that has played on very good teams. With our current injury situation, we felt this addressed one of our needs.”

    Coach Brian Hill ruined it.

Darko by the way has played in 96 career NBA regular season games, all with the Pistons, averaging 1.6 ppg. and 1.2 rpg. in 5.8 minpg.

then again we have Jerome James...
