NY Daily News: His chosen sport is still basketball where, after 12 seasons as an NBA playmaker he is an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets. But yesterday ex-Knick Charlie Ward was honored for the sport of his greatest notoriety, with his election to the College Football Hall of Fame.
Ward, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1993 while quarterbacking Florida State to the national championship, was elected to the college Hall along with his FSU coach, Bobby Bowden, and 13 others including Penn State patriarch Joe Paterno, Nebraska 1983 Heisman Trophy-winning running back Mike Rozier, Florida running back Emmitt Smith, Virginia Tech defensive tackle Bruce Smith and Minnesota tackle Carl Eller.

Eller is already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and both Smiths are certain to follow as soon as they're eligible.
