MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Latrell Sprewell missed the Minnesota Timberwolves' media day on Thursday, but owner Glen Taylor wasn't concerned.
``I know that he's on his way,'' Taylor said at the team's practice facility at Target Center, where the rest of the Timberwolves gathered for physicals, photos and interviews.
Training camp starts Friday at St. John's University in Collegeville, and Taylor expects Sprewell to be there after speaking with the shooting guard's mother in Milwaukee.
``I have no reason not to believe his mom,'' Taylor said.
Sprewell, acquired in a four-team trade from the New York Knicks, is one of several offseason additions Minnesota made in an attempt to stop its string of seven straight first-round exits from the playoffs.
He's had some off-the-court problems in the past, but Taylor said the Timberwolves wouldn't have made the trade if they were concerned about Sprewell's character.
