AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons can extend their winning streak to four games on Friday as they face the struggling New York Knicks at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Pistons have won three consecutive games after losing first three games of a four-game road trip. They won a season-high five straight games from October 31-November 9.

Detroit has won eight of 11 games overall after posting a 99-92 road victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Chauncey Billups scored 25 of his season-high 33 points in the second half and Tayshaun Prince had 16 and six assists for the Pistons, who scored 15 straight points in the third quarter to take the lead for good.

Richard Hamilton added 15 points as Detroit made 5-of-7 3-pointers, 20-of-27 free throws and held a 46-38 rebounding advantage.

The struggling Knicks completed a 1-2 homestand with a 104-83 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.

Frank Williams scored 14 points and Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley added 13 apiece for New York, which attempted only six free throws while Los Angeles had 47 chances from the line.

The shorthanded Knicks lost for the fifth time in six games as they played without forward Keith Van Horn, who sat out with a sprained ankle.

Detroit and New York split four meetings last season, with each team winning twice on its home floor. The Pistons have won seven of their last 10 games against the Knicks at the Palace.

i just don't get one thing: since we are losing.. how come we don't play the rookies? it doesn't matter we lose by 2 or we lose by 20, a L is a L.
so just play them for God's sake!!

i agree with you. take lampe off from the IL and give the guy some playtime. and lampe is not the only rookie we have, but it seems that noone cares about this team
