Celtics And Wolves Reach Agreement

USA Today -
Kevin Garnett is leaving Minnesota after the Boston Celtics agreed to acquire the All-Star forward in a multiplayer trade with the Timberwolves, a Celtics official told The Associated Press on Monday.

Among the players who could be headed to Minnesota are forward Al Jefferson, guard Sebastian Telfair, swingman Gerald Green and center Theo Ratliff, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been completed. The official also said the Timberwolves would get at least one draft choice.

The teams "ran into a few things that need clarification" in the players' contracts, but the official said that would not keep the Celtics from acquiring Garnett, although there could be a change in the players ticketed for the Timberwolves.

There was a "50-50" chance that a conference call announcing the trade would be held Monday, the official said. [READ]

Great trade for both teams. Celtics are a winning franchise that needed a change, they had too much young players were playing in a weak divison. Adding elite NBA players like Allen and Garnett should put them on top of the Eastern Conference. They're thinking win now, and they executed their plan the right way. Get the best player in the NBA to team up with an elite guard like Allen and en elite SF like Pierce. Plus they have Rando and Perkins, two very young players who could be productive role players come this season.

Minnesota wasn't going no where with KG, so why not trade him for a one of the best young big men in the NBA, Al Jefferson? He was a 20 and 10 player after the all star break, and is only 22. Gerald Green and Telfair are also 21 or 22 players who can be good starters in the future. Minnesota is thinking for future, which is good for them, they atleast have a direction.

Ainge and McHale both look better after this trade, and Isiah looks worse.

We are on a road to nowhere, and the sooner people realize this the better.
