Good to read some Knick News!

1. I like Steph, but seriously the Knick management needs to tell him no more interviews without a P.P. rep. I agree with him about how Vick is being torn down by the media a bit harshly, but to say that dog fighting is a sport and to compare it to hunting is just ignorant! I don't agree with hunting for sport, think that the only time a deer should be killed is if that deer is providing dinner for the hunters family(Chris Rock once said "Only in America do people hunt on a full stomach") but hunting is legal like or not, dogfighting isnt! I'm originally form NYC and dogfighting is almost as common as pickup games, so I guess that's why Steph was so nonchalant on the severty of the pit fights, but he needs to realize that everytime you speak in a interview those words are documented and analyzed so he must be a lot more carefull with his words because he is really starting to undermind his Starbury movement which is a great cause.

2. I love to hear optimism on the Knicks landing a key player. Look can the Lakers just part with Bynum and Odom to such this big baby up and dead all the Kobe trade rumors! I don't want Kobe as a Knick frankly, we're not any closer to a championship than the Lakers are and it won't be long before this little brat is doing the same to us. I can see it now he blasting Knick managment for not wanting to part with a player like Lee or Balkman (assuming we don't lose them both in getting him). I hope Ron will be our starting 3 come opening night(well it won't be opening night he's out for a month) but if we land him Q is healthy and Zach and Eddy mesh then we have a bonafied playoff team, not just one that gets in because of a weak conference

3. Who the HELL DOES D NICHOLS THINK HE IS! This is the problem with Pro Athletes! I take it D. Nichlol's agent told him how a good summer league means instant stardom in this league! Now he is telling the managment about what he is not going play, you're a rookie 2nd round pick be greatfull for the position that you're in. Do some research "D", Langdon out of Duke was a great shooter in fact was a lottery pick, but is now a 6th man in Europe. More recently look at JJ Redick, good shooters come along in every draft and can be found on almost every European sqaud, so watch the bridges you burn because the NY spotlight can be damaging to your career if not managed right, ask Larry Brown. What his agent should be telling him is how getting a rep as a headcase early in your career can create a stigma that is hard to shake. Sac got to witness his game first hand, I wouldn't at all mind seeing him moved in a deal for Ron. Dan, Nichols, Morrision, Nate a pick and another contract shoud get it done.

I think the papers should hire someone full time to just follow Marbury around and keep getting embarrasing sound bites from him. It's always a comical read lol

He needs to just take a page from Manny Ramirez and just refuse to open his mouth in public. EVERY SINGLE TIME this man talks, its an embarrasment to himself and the franchise!

If he didn't have such an infavorable image, I'd feel sorry him....

As much as I love dogs, I gotta agree with you. Vick is getting too much much bs. I mean come on, they are acting like he murdered a human. It is getting out of hand.:teeth:

Man, I understand people's connections with dogs, I know I'm extreme and not even correct what I said...but people go over broad with this stuff. I love how the media and other people hype this up as the most important current event in America when they are far more important things going on; thats how the media controls everything.

If you were in D Nichols position, how would you feel if a team said "we want you on our team but we don't have room for you, go play in europe until we get out act together!"

I don't know about you but i would feel disrespected. there are many teams in the NBA that would want this guy on their team, and he's good enough to play in the NBA until he proves that wrong. By sending him to europe will be a waste of his talents. if he wanted to play in europe he would have not entered the NBA draft.

So I agree with him, if the knicks don't want to give him a contract then someone else will. and he shouldn't lower his value by settling for a second grade european basketball.

Vick deserves what he gets. This is cruelty to another life. He did not only used dogs for fighting he also killed the dogs that were not fit to fight. Killed them by eletrocuting them, physically beating them. This is cruelty to life.

If there was an athlete charged with doing the same thing to humans then Vick would have been kicked out the NFL a long time ago.

If they allowed cruelty to animals people, as human nature does, people will always push the envelope and may eventually to worse things.

I wonder why people do not picket or go ape wild over athletes who beat their significant others?

Maybe our priorities as a society are kinda screwed up.

Everybody understands that Vick was wrong the thing about it is that the media made a huge spectacle about it like he committed a terrorist act or something. Hopefully he'll get his due punishment but they made it seem like he was killing people.

There were police officers on trial that were on caught on video beating down some man, how often did you hear about that? there is a big controversy called the 'Jena 6' going on, how often do you hear about that? there is another serial killer going around killing people, how often do you hear about that?

all those things deal with cruelty to people, and it seems that all the american media cares about is some stupid dogs thats nobody misses. and thats where the problem is

The Knicks are showing him a lot of respect by wanting to keep him around, and they are even trying to orchestrate a trade in order to have him on the roster next season, and if he doesn't realize that then bye bye.
And I guess what you're saying is that if the Knicks asked him to go to the D League he should refuse that as well? The Knicks are telling him we don't want to let you go, but we just can't sighn you right now. Not to mention it's not as if going to Europe for one season won't help his game at all.

Exactly, it's HOW he did it that is disgusting. I don't see how he's getting "BS". Please tell me, what is this "BS" that he's getting? He's getting the same amount of press anyone who would do such a thing would get.

Again Vick doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting from the media at all, but when you're a celebrity you have to know you live and die by the media, cas in point look at Linds Lohan and Britney Spears, when they were hot the media had glamor shots of them everywhere, but when you're down the media knows how to pounce on you. That is how fickle the media is, and as much as we complain about it, that's just the way it is. But regardless of who it is be it the a Good Ol Boy on the farm from Miss. or Superstar QB for the Falcons who ever takes part in dogfighting needs to go to jail. I don't value a dogs life anymore than a humans, because if these were human lives I would be saying he needs to be executed not just a year in jail!

I understand what you are saying, but to me it seems likeNichols is going to lose out because the franchise isnt ran properly, and thats not fair to him. Yes the D league can help him out, yes playing overseas can help him out, but thats not what he wants to do, so how can you force him to do that?

Imagine if you were offered a job at Microsoft, and then they tell you "we have too many employees and we don't know which one to fire, so we are going to set it up so you can work at PC Richards for a year and then hopefully we'll have our act together"

would you work at PC Richards for a year, or will you accept a position at IBM or APPLE for the same money Microsoft initially offered you?

all while everyone in the your field knows that your talents are superior to some of those that are already hired at microsoft.

Josh Hancock was impaired while driving. He got into a crash and Killed himself. The Media made a touching tribute to him. Mike Vick has never been shown harming anything. They media spends all day burying him. I find it naive when people act like there aren't factors tht play a part in how a story is delivered. I've seen it all. You get tired of media bias, but because most people say that's the way it goes, such is the case. Don Imus is an Idiot. He was recently given a multi-million dollar settlement. He got paid for his misconduct. Only in AmeriKKKa.

Bahh, we don't have it so bad in the USA. All these people the media rip apart are where they are because of the media in the first place. It's a symbiotic relationship that will always exists. Think about it ; )

or just move to France.

Marbury is a bad person

I don't follow sports, and I don't really know who Vick or Marbury are. But I know dogfighting is a cruel and inhumane activity. I have known several pit bulls who were not fighting dogs, and they are gentle and affectionate animals. To take an animal like that and abuse them until they become a fighter is the act of a monster. To enjoy the resulting spectacle as entertainment is the pleasure of a monster. And to say this is "just a sport" and defend the people who perpetrate this cruelty is just as monsterous. And don't use the excuse that we should care more about cruelty to people. We should care about both. Most people who abuse people weaker than them got their start abusing animals. It's all just sick people. And nobody would defend somebody that sick unless they were sick like that themself.

There is a growing belief that professional sports itself is nothing but brutality disguised as entertainment. When we see prominent sports figures perpetrating or defending animal cruelty it is easy to see why that is believable.

What are you expecting? For them to throw roses at him and say "LOLZ SERVES THOS DOGS RIGHT". If your best friend was killed, and someone was named as a suspect, you're going to go after them and automatically think they did it, no matter what. It's how we as human beings are.

Vick got caught out there by forgetting the Priorities of Fame and he is a million dollar entertainer. Everything must be descrete (what goes on around the way stays around the way).

Marbury is a different story, in the offseason he should be taking classes in Socialism, Sociology, and Social Science. Marbury is the only person that I know that would answer a controversal question like Abortion, Heaven & Hell, whos the best PG in the NBA, Vick, or what came first the Chicken or the egg. These are questions you plead the 5th on.
I'm just happy that Marbury is better in bussiness math than he is with speech.
