first off, i agree heavily with the post above me from nyk nyk. Rose (besides for his expiring contract) brings so many things to this club that doesnt meet the eye necessarily. his leadership, PLAYOFF EXPERIENCE, and veteran mentality is almost coach like. and he should definitely be wearing a C alongside Marbury. cause marbury might be the best overall player on this team but Malik Rose is the best overall leader. everyteam has the heart, the skills, the leader. and nate, marbs, rose. are those three.

back on subject, as said multiple time prior.. we have to pay for james any which way you like at it. and if you believe that ANY gm could trade james anytime before his contract is ready to expire than you are insane. we would have to package lee, robinson, randolph, starks and ewing to get rid of james at this point in his contract.

the best option would be (since basketball IS a business) is buy him out for at least 3 million less than we would have payed him. hell go away we have 1 roster space open up, 2 spots on the bench and 3 seats on the team bus! we use 1/6 of that money we saved to keep both jordan and nichols. simple as that.

any which way you look at this. jerome james getting cut/bought out was/IS the way to go. and thats gospel man haha

Okay we all hate James (obvious), but how can you say a good GM would move on from Rose? Do you realize all the intangible things this guy brings to the game? You never ever see him slacking on defense and he's a vocal leader out on the court. Guys like him give the star players the proper attitude to have out on the court.

A players value is not strictly limited to his offensive production. If Rose played 20 min/gm he would give you some damn good 20 min. If Curry played post defense the way Rose does, he would be complete. Teams can always use a hard-nose player.

I don't know if you've been following IT's GM resume since he started, but he's drafted dome pretty good players for this league. If anything, he's a much better GM than he is a coach. Not following you Metro.

His performance level is poor. Watch the games and check the stats. Rose is very below average and isn't a guy you want as your back up PF and a guy as your vocal "leader". He's a nice guy, had a good history in San Antonio as an intangibles guy, but what he has done in San Antonio, he hasn't done in New York, those days are long gone. Malik has MADE a lot of stupid plays, especially on offense. Rose and Curry was AWFUL to watch during the Larry Brown era, I put myself through alot of pain and misery watching those two ruin our offense, making it all easy for the opposition.

IF? Where the hell were you when Rose started 35 games? Rose was a starter for the Knicks under Brown. Rose was by far the worst starting PF in the NBA at the time. His production? 37% FG on 4 points and 3 rebounds. Garbage. His intensity and level of performance? The lowest standard you can find the NBA.

Under Larry Brown, Rose was awful. Too slow to stay in front of his man, and too small to guard your average big in the paint. Offensively, he did nothing.

Under Isiah, he was less worse; but does that justify your theory that we actually need the guy? Lee can fill Rose's role easily, and it will give NEEDED minutes to Lee over Rose.

Would you rather take away 10-15 minutes from a developing determined big man like David Lee and give it to a pass his prime 6"5 PF like Malik Rose?

You guys need to understand Rose isn't at his Spurs level of play. He isn't a lock down defense, he isn't going to dominate the boards, and offensively, he's arguable the worst player on this team. So whats the use of him being here besides stealing minutes from Lee?

Allan Houston >>> Rose.

Isiah Thomas, a good GM? Let me just remind you of his history as the GM of the Knicks. I think you've gone missing the last 3-4 years and made a comeback, Isiah is far from a good gm, executive, and at any position in the front office.

NEW YORK, June 26, 2002 ? Indeed, Camby was my favorite Knick at the time too. I went through so much emotions that night, probably my worst time as a Knick fan.

BTW everyone talks about Malik's leadership skills...where was that leadership skill when he was having a fight in the shower with Nate over a gambling bet? Where was Malik when Q and Marbury were having their problems. Rose is not motivating anyone when the team knows he sucks. Malik doesn't get us wins with his leadership. Jerome James can at least block shots and takes up more space in the paint...plus James is like 7"1-7"2. Malik should be waived, losing Jordan and Nichols for Malik isn't a smart GM move.

True that MSGhobo, but I was watching the WHOLE game, and it seemed to me that the Knicks weren't even trying to play seriously. Turnovers were a big factor also.

Metro I gotta give you credit, Malik wasn't there for Qs and Marburys problem, and he wasn't even there from Larry Browns and Marburys problem. But when it comes to helping players with there game, Malik is almost always there to help.

Speaking of Isiah. He was a Executive Vice Prez. for the Raptors for 3 years. He is responsible for drafting Marcus Camby! Damon Stoudemire, and TRACY McGRADY!

Once again this shows you the skills of Isiahs draft methods. Just to point out that he should be a scout, he would be one of the best in the league.

Yes this means their signed for a year longer a peice. This also means this is the year that we either sign/trade or cut Nate and Lee ( they both better get long term deals ) and we can either sign Balkman and Collins to another extention on their current rookie contracts next year or we could just do the inevitable and sign them to long deals this year. (but we won't we'll wait the year out and save some cash)

Yeah thats true

This guy will never see minutes this was a redicuous move by the knicks. like my other bloggers said he will be get payed anyway. Plus when you buy out a contractu usually they dont get the whole thing. Nicholes would have gotten what 100,000 it would have equalled out in the numbers the knicks organization is so stupid.

nichols wasnt going be a factor to the outcome of the knicks this year, so stop crying

He might not have "been a factor" in the outcome of this year, but at least he could hit the floor if called upon unlike the useless,fat-ass,loser on the end of the bench named J.James! We are going to pay this guy (James) anyway so why not try cutting his full pay by buying him out? Valid question don't you think?

Malik can't stop Marbury from being himself. The point guard who should be the leader shouldn't be in fights. But being around each other for months and monts fights are bound to happen, I mean best friends even get in fights, it happens.

Knicks down by 5 with 30 seconds left to go. Nichols has been on the bench all game, hasn't broken a sweat... you think if they call James or Chandler or any of the back end players could be called on to make that shot.. no they won't Nichols could. If that would have been his only role.. that and garbage time.. that would have been enough...
