With the knicks looking at the lottery again, do we have a 1st round pick?

The knicks(7-16) struggles puts them in the bottom 5 of the NBA, along with memphis(7-16), Seattle(7-18),Miami(6-17) and Minnesota(3-18). Do we still owe phoenix, chicago or anyone else our 1st round draft pick this year?

Go 1990s New York Knicks!
NO...... NO!!!!!!!!!!!...

Utah receives a 2008 New York first-round pick (top 23 protected in 2008, top 22 protected in 2009 and unproteced in 2010) (Tom Gugliotta trade 021904) via Phoenix (Marbury trade) Phoenix receives a 2005 New York Knicks first-round pick. (010504 Marbury trade).

I dont understand it, if its top 23 protected doesnt that mean that as long as its 23 or lower we keep it? Or apparently its the other way around, Utah gets the pick as long as its a top 23 pick.

F*CK ISIAH!!!!!!

I dont know its sounds more logical the other way around. They get a chance at 1-23..... THIS blows. OR! its 23-30. and they get it. Top 23 thats probably theres. So I think the knicks might be safe.but anyway.
ISIAH SHOULD BE HUNG BY THE BALLS AT MSG, he should get a jail sentence for being a dumba$$.

You're right. If it's 23 or lower, we keep it. We should be safe.

Sold out future for RIght now! and boy are we reaping benefits.

I believe it means the knicks giv up a first rounder if it's not in top 23, but defere the 1st rounder to next year 2009 also top 22 protected, then unprotected in 2008.
If you look at protland, they get a 2nd rounder from us in 2008,
and chicago gets another 2nd round from us in 2009
Our future looks terrible, it has been sold downthe river for our present...and somehow I find myself looking forward to the Future?
