This is a trade I would like the Knicks, and people to consider.

The Knicks receive 2008 2nd round pick,Telfair, and Ratliff 11.6 million will be expiring during the offseason. 2.5 million for Telfair, but maybe the Knicks could resign him.

The T'Wolves receive Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, Fred Jones, and 2008 second round pick.

I just don't see why the T'wolves wouldn't want to hold on to those contracts and maybe sign a good free agent.

T'wolves could have a nice young nucleas next season if they let that money come off the books. Al Jefferson, Randy Foye, Top 3 pick, and money to spend on a free agent. That has promise.

So with that being an option why would Minnesota want to add Crawford? I could easily see them having interest in Nate but they deffinately would have no interest in Crawford and his salary.

Teams with established scorers and leaders may be willing to take on Crawford as a second or 3rd option, but young teams looking to build would want nothing to do with Crawford. And for that matter they'd want nothing to do with basically any Knick but Lee and Nate.

Go 1990s New York Knicks!
Cool. Thanks for your opinion. You bring up a good point. But there is no other way cap wise this trade would work, and fairly to add.

^ That deal sounds pretty good, but Mike Bibby wont be great in NY. I just see it. Mikki has the showmanship, and the hustle to be a good fit here in NY. Pretty good trade.

Jermaine O'Neil to the Knicks?

Daily News Article: Friday, February 8th 2008 By IAN BEGLEY
While most of the Knicks act and talk like they want nothing to do with Isiah Thomas, Pacers forward/center Jermaine O'Neal has made it clear that he would gladly accept a trade to New York.

"I think in this business you got to be willing to believe at some point, if your team struggles you are going to be traded," O'Neal said after the Pacers handed the Knicks their seventh straight loss on Wednesday night. "I would accept it."

O'Neal didn't want to directly address coming to New York out of respect for the Pacers, but said Madison Square Garden was "one of the most desired atmospheres to play in in basketball."

According to O'Neal, the Pacers are in trade talks with several teams and it is no secret that Thomas has tried on several occasions to acquire O'Neal, whom he coached for three seasons in Indiana. O'Neal's high school coach, George Glymph, is on Thomas' staff.

Thomas might try to move Zach Randolph, who last month was the subject of trade talks involving Milwaukee.

"The deal makes a lot of sense to me," one Knicks player said on Wednesday.

Randolph said yesterday that this season - his first as a Knick - has been extremely difficult even compared to his lean years in Portland. Randolph missed the playoffs in his final four seasons with the Blazers.

"Losing is losing," Randolph said after the Knicks practiced yesterday. "It's more (difficult) here with all the distractions, there's a lot of other stuff going on. It makes it that much more difficult to concentrate."

However, Pacers GM Larry Bird may not want to risk acquiring Randolph, who is from nearby Marion, Ind. Also, Bird's strained relationship with Thomas could hurt any chances of the two teams orchestrating a deal.

There is also the question of whether Garden chairman James Dolan would give Thomas authorization to make trades. The Knicks are 14-35 and face the defending champion Spurs (31-16), without injured guard Tony Parker, tonight at the Garden.

O'Neal said the Knicks lacked a leader, which is a void that the six-time All-Star could easily fill, according to Thomas.

"When I was coaching him, I saw those things," Thomas said when asked about O'Neal's leadership qualities. Thomas refused to comment on any conversations he has had with teams about potential trades, but his infatuation with the 6-11 O'Neal is no secret.

"Jermaine is one of my favorite people on Earth," Thomas said. "I think the world of him as a person and a player."

O'Neal, 29, has missed the past 10 games while rehabbing a bone bruise on his left knee, which was surgically repaired over the summer. O'Neal said he initially returned from the injury too early and was "disappointed" that the Pacers announced he would be back on the court in two weeks when he left the lineup on Jan.16 with soreness in the knee.

"I was out there on one leg," said O'Neal, who is averaging 15.3 points and 7.3 rebounds. "I rushed back, but I won't do that again. . .. I believe anywhere I go, once my knee is back to the level (where) I know I can really dominate, I will get back to that level. Wherever I'm at. Whether it's Indiana, or wherever."

This trade would work. Zach Randolph and Jarred Jeffries to Indiana for Jermaine O'neil.

I sound stupid like you now.

Anyway, O'Neal to New York is a useless deal. It just keeps the circle of aging ex-all stars to New York coming and coming. O'Neil is damaged goods, injury prone and not the player he once was. He's always been an overrated player. Trading for O'Neal will make us slightly better; but you need to understand the most important thing right now is finding a foundation of young players we can build around and hopefully a superstar who can change the franchise around like how Chris Paul, Howard, and Lebron did with their teams. We need to trade for expiring, draft picks, do ANYTHING to obtain this goal. Getting O'Neal isn't going to help at all. We need a FACE for the Knicks, Lebron is the face of the Cavs, Paul is the face of the Hornets, Wade is the face of the Heat, Howard is the face of the Magic...but what about the most important franchise in the NBA? We got some ugly ass faces in New York, like Crawford's permanent herpie and his lost and dazed look. Or Curry's facial clone of Biggie Smalls on two hundred more cheeseburgers. Fuck Isiah for soiling the Knicks franchise with herbs. I would love to slap him and the people who supported this Herb Movement to the Knicks; its really disgusting to know that they were a GROUP of people who would bash you and call you out if you questioned Curry, Crawford or any other overrated C level cancer on this team that were crown with propaganda adjectives like "promising" "potential" "talented" "future all-star" "superstar". Pendejos.

I completely agree with you on this one. I was just throwing it out there because it was a rumor that started up again today. I don't want O'Neil here either. I want to blow the whole fucking thing up too and get a true All-Star. Best. Plan. Ever. Haha!

The only reason why I was thinking it could be good was for financial reasons. Getting rid of Randolph's and Jeffries' salaries for a shorter term contract would help us get under the cap quicker.
