Marbury on the Block.

"According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the Knicks have been trying to deal the injured 30-year-old point guard, who has one year and a hefty $22 million left on his contract. It's been a futile attempt with zero interest, but if Marbury's conspicuous distance from his team while recovering from bone spur surgery on his ankle isn't enough evidence that this is the end of his Knicks run, being on the trading block solidifies it."

I say the Knicks keep Marbury because of his expiring contract next year, and a chance to save that cap money and sign someone with value.

Now let's see if the league wide Myth of "Teams Win, when Marbury leaves" theory lives on... should be interesting

If they can't find anyone willing to trade for him, at the very least for his expiring contract, maybe it's best to just buy him out now and cut him loose so that both the Knicks and Marbs can move on from all the drama they caused eachother.

He can still be a role player, so it's not like he won't find work. None of us know how serious his injury is though. After Steve Francis, many teams might not want to even take a chance on him, given his lockeroom reputation.

I say he should sign with Detroit. Flip and him get along well, and there is too many strong personalities in Detroit to allow another "Phoenix Incident"

Next season, keep waiting
Don't know why a team that's in cap hell would trade off an expiring contract. Shouldn't we get a D. Wade caliber player for freeing up $20 million off of the recipient team's books? Keep Marbury! Let his contract expire. Unless Toronto wants to get under the cap and give us Jose Calderon and a few other pieces.

That is the greatest example of Isiah Thomas. Isiah has no mentality, and even if he did have the extra cap room, he would be smart about signing a good player, NBA players know that the Knicks sign players a BIG nice contract during the offseason (example Jeffries, James). Thats why the Knicks one of the highest in CAP. Thats why Isiah wants to trade Marbury, because of he would waste all that money on garbage players anyway. FIRE ISIAH PLEASE.

At this point I think they should buy him out. Trading Marbury for Mike Bibby or Jason Williams will add to the mess. Marburys better then both of them and if were gonna trade for either of them we might as well keep Marbury who is already knows Isiahs system (not really much of a system).

Buy his contract out or let it expire, one or the other.

Isiah was stupid and benched him after 5 games, then his pops passed, now an injury. Its good to see someone who recognizes the fact that he played well last year.

lol Paris that is so Isiaherr like, Isiah will probably do something like that. Tell me why does a franchise like the Knicks deserve a man like Isiah Thomas, The Knicks deserve someone better, and Sterns gotta come down and make a discission for Dolan, and FIRE ISIAH. thats just crazy how things come along, it seems like Isiah doesn't know what he is doing GM/Coach wise, and he just messes up one time after another.

someone will take him off our hands at the trading deadline in feb 09.. until then it's all ours...
You speak the truth. Plus, Marbury would have to pass a physical, for the trade to go through. It's impossible for Marbury to pass a physical, cause he just finished having surgery a month ago.
