First thing first, logic says once the Knicks became 25 games under .500 it is time to send your best scouts to the college games to see all the Potential Stars comming out this 2008 draft.
Let's get this right, the Knicks started the 2007-8 season playing garbage-time players Marbury, Crawford, Q.Rich, Zach, Curry, Jones, and Jefferies.
Some people may think these players are STARS, but their NBA career shows they are "individual-players" that always had problems mixing well with their teammates. They are Isiah Thomas PET-PLAYERS!
If anyone would have got news on any of the Knicks Scrimage Games in the offseason when David Lee got back from working out with the USA Team, it would've been known that "Morris, Lee, Balkman, Chandler, D.Nichols, Collins, and Nate Robinson, was a tough seven-man rotation to out-rebound, out-score, out-run, and to defend against.
With Coach Hannerty in the gym those seven players meshed into a great chemistry using Chandler, D.Nichols, Nate, and Collins on the Peremeter to defend and outscore oponents.
The real Big Knick News this past offseason was when D.Nichols fired his agent and refuse to play overseas. WHY?
D.Nichols worked hard in co-existing alongside of "Morris, Lee, Balkman, Nate, and Chandler", to become the main Top-Scorer of the group, and the best passing leader of the group to get the ball downlow to Morris, Lee, and Balkman. His talent mixed so well that the chemistry was oustanding.
Demetris Nichols was the missing piece to the 2nd-Unit offense, and a great replacement to backup Crawford.
Demetris Nichols may be in the D-League now, but I give him his total Props for commiting himself the entire Offseason to co-existing with teammates Nate, Balkman, Chandler, Morris, and Lee. He made their talents better. That is why I still say "The best player we got out of the Francis & Frye trade was Demetris Nichols.". His talent & performance makes his teammates talent better.
