Media D'Antoni Plans To Put LeBron At PF...?

D'Antoni, who will be officially introduced as Knicks coach either tomorrow or Wednesday, had a two-time MVP in Steve Nash running his high-octane offense and all-stars Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire as key pieces in his system with the Suns. And he is salivating at the mere potential of inserting the versatile James into his very versatile system on basketball's grandest stage.

One person with knowledge of D'Antoni's thinking suggested he "would probably use [James] at the four spot [power forward] ... He would fit in anywhere."

James is the mold of the ideal player for the D'Antoni system. "Ideally," the person said, "you would have a bunch of 6-9 guys who can handle the ball and shoot threes."

James plays for the Cavs and will be for the next two seasons. Why are we even discussing this?

They said MJ was going to be a knick too. Right that worked.... So was Kobe like from 4 through 1 years ago. LeBron won't be a Knick either. I think he will be a Cav for his whole career.

Think about it. Lebron has personally expressed his desire to not only be the best in the NBA, but an icon as well. He wants to be the first billionaire athlete. To do that, you have to be marketable and play in a huge market. Cleveland is not a big market. New York is a big market.

Do you realize what kind of impact Lebron would make in a Knicks uniform? Forget what he can do on the court, think about radio spots, tv commercials, billboards, buses, cabs, subways... Lebron is the kind of player that can turn the Knicks around and create a lot of excitement in the Garden. We all know for a fact that Donnie Walsh can put a better supporting cast around Lebron than Danny Ferry can.

toons stop bringing back LeBron stuff. Whatever happens then is our business THEN, not now. Its 2009 bro, and we have a competitive team. I think if we were the 8 seed we would win 1 game, but we would be soooo close in every game. Who knows, if Hughes and Wilcox work we could be a top team, but even if we are not, think about the current team and root them on.
