Agreed. There was only 3 star players in this draft and they all went top 3. The rest are very good college players or internationals that have the potential to be star players.
There is no guarantee that if we picked up Augustine or Lopez that they would have turned this team around or become all star calibre players.
I think they went with someone that suits the coaches style of play and at the end of the day drafting someone outside of the top 3 isnt going to turn this franchise around.
This needs to be done by trading and getting rid of the dead wood holding this team back.

Default Like Steph or Not he is our MVP

Ok so what do we do with Wilson Chandler? Does he play behind or infront of Q? I look at his Draft Video and it resembles Jared Jefferies' video coming out of Indiana. The problem is that at best he projected to be solid role player. We need to make some moves to make this pick make sense.

By not taking a PG means to me that the plan is to go w/ Steph. So no more bad talk about him because he is our most important player now. Dantoni needs to utilize Crawford to rationalize not taking a Gordon or Bayless. The pick may not be a bust, but the Knicks are showing a lot of confidence in the current Knicks with making this pick, so hopefully it will work out.

for the sake of saving this website, let me clear my throat.
first off.. nikoloz is NOT italian he is from the republic of Georgia.
secondly.. this kid is not garbage. just because you havent been reading about him since his highschool years or you havent seen him play in college or he doesn't have a trading card yet means JACK. stop thinking in that we need a big name to play well. like it or not mike is our coach. mike plays EXACTLY how this kid plays. and right now (once again like it or not) marbury, crawford, robinson, Gallinari, Richardson, Chandler FIT this style. that rotation will succeed.

this kid puts the ball on the floor. he shoots over 40 percent from the floor. near 40 behind the arc. has post up moves and can play about 3 positions. he doesnt play much D but mike doesnt push D. and im guessing if he were too this kid could learn seeing his dad was a D specialist.

if youre complaining for the sake of complaining, more power to you. but do some research and give some valid reasoning to your attacks.

did you at least his blue/orange reebok **** shoes. things are niiiice

I agree about marbury...he is the biggest factor going into next season and his impact will determine how far we go. To quote Tragedy Khadafi "i feel im needed like the knicks need Marbury"....well the knicks need marbury more then ever now. As one of the most talented point guards EVER, i think he'll prove the haters wrong. His attitude has been much better the past 2 years and I look forward to watching him lead us next year.

Trust Mike and what he does. I know Mike personally and he is a great person and coach. I doubt that this will be D'Antoni's last European player that you see drafted in NY. D'Antoni is Europe's version of MJ. He knows the game and how to coach on and off the floor.

Don't expect a 180 degree turn around in 1-2 years, it's not going to happen with all of the guaranteed contracts that Isaiah locked up. When the Knicks can get Marbery, Richardson, Rose, James out of NY then you can start talking about a turn around.

If D'Antoni can get some decent FAs, look to start to win on a consitant basis in 2011 or 2012. That may seem like light years away but NYK salary cap is horrid and you need atleast 3 years to start getting out of that.

If you can be patient, you will be happy with the results. As was said on the Draft Gallinari isn't going to be a superstar a James, Bryant, Garnette, Kidd but he will be a team player like all European players are. In 3-4 years you may have a Ginobili, Vujacic, or Radmanovic.

Donnie did send Isiah to scout him, I would love to see that scouting report! I know Isiah really wanted Eric Gordon and that is who we would have probably taken if he were still here.

Also i just want to say i was disgusted with the reception the Knick fans gave Gallinari. No wonder the Knick fans get payed out all the time.
I know New York fans have a rep of booing and being tough and it was funny when Stern came onto the stage and the booing began lol but u dont boo your own draft pick. You may not agree with it but fk that kid would have been thinking what am i getting myself in for.
You can express ur view to the Knicks in another form, not take it out on the player.
