Welcome to the official jpz17 Knicks pre-game show!
lamo at msg's hidden text

First off I would just like to say the Knicks are off to an impressing start (to some) just because of their winning record! Duhon started off terrible, but has gotten 100x better. Though he is still not the perfect pg for D'Antoni, he is decent. A great pick for pg could be someone who is already on the team Stephon Marbury.
stephon_marbury2.jpg

After the Knicks depressing loss to the Spurs without two key players they are looking forward to an up-tempo game versus the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies have many players who do great in up-tempo style games (Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo..). This should be a very high-scoring game. If the Knicks do not reach 95 points I do not expect them to win. Look for Mayo to score 20 and Gay to take advantage of Q-Rich. On the Knicks look for Zach Randolph to be the player of the game after his disgusting game yesterday. Let's hope the Knicks can get Robinson involved more to guard Mayo who is also quick. Yes, Duhon can play d good, but Mayo is just too quick.

(forget about the Mayo at pg stuff, hes playing sg)

JPZ17 Prediction- Knicks win 112-104

The Grizzlies are still developing and are a long way from a championship.. Even though they are a sub .500 team. They are coming off a loss to PHX

Starting for Memphis........

At Center Marc Gasol
At Power Forward Darrell Arthur
At Small Forward Rudy Gay
At Shooting Guard OJ Mayo
At Point Guard Mike Conely Jr.

OJ Mayo is coming off a 33 point game versus PHX and is ready to go. He is succeeding in the NBA and with the Memphis Grizzlies. Should be interesting because Knick fans wanted him as their starting point guard. As for Crawford he is averaging 20 ppg and should be a legit threat to Memphis

As we all know Q is not the best defender. He is now going up against future all-star Rudy Gay. Gay is performing well this year and is has high expectations. Let's see how Q-Rich can handle Rudy Gay.

Knicks upcoming Schedule:
  • Wed, Nov 12 @ Memphis 8:00 PM
  • Fri, Nov 14 @ Oklahoma City 7:30 PM
  • Sun, Nov 16 vs Dallas 6:00 PM

great thread JPZ, this should be a win but we cant go out and underestimate the Grizzles they have a decent team and they have been competitive for the most part this season we cant be easy on them i think Chandler has a good game today after two sub-par games. Mayo is someone we should look out for he is playing like a seasoned ve averaging 21pts 5 reb and 2.5 ast, of course he's had his share of rookie mistakes but he's been the top rookie thus far in the season, Rudy is going to be Rudy, and Gasol is the underrated one we gotta look out for averaging 10.8 pts and 8.3 reb. we could/should win this game but we've been streaky this year and have lost some winnable games. We gotta come out with some good defense and pin-point offense.

Great thread, JPZ17. It was just as good as the ones MSG makes. I expect this game to be very close. It will be very interesting to see how Jamal Crawford matches up against Mayo, and how Randolph matches up against Gasol. Zach Randolph scored his career-high 43 points against Pau Gasol, so maybe he can score 43 on Marc Gasol. lol

I'm very interested in watching this game, the Knicks should be able to pull out this win but you never know, they settle for a lot of outside shots (Crawful style) and that is not good to rely on.

As expected OJ Mayo was someone we should have tried harder to get (good job walsh). I can see him dominating Crawful easily to continue his 20+ ppg streak.

OJ Mayo will be rookie of the year, if he's not I'd be shocked-

I got to give Jamal Crawford credit. His field goal percentage is much improved from all of his other seasons with the Knicks and Bulls. I don't know if this will last, since Crawford is very streaky, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah his shooting % is up because he's not looking to create his own shot most of the time now like before. I give him some credit for shooting pretty well but you still see him and his old ways playing out at some point.

He's shooting good now and if he can keep that up then ok, I saw him actually attempting to drive and made a few decent driving plays for once. I still don't like him being on the team but it is what it is.

Why is Q-Bytch starting and DLee comes off the bench? Didn't David Lee and Z-Bola have great chemistry going for them? It would make more sense-

I'm looking forward to this game. I haven't seen OJ Mayo play yet this season, and from highlights/espn he looks pretty good. I think we should have Duhon guard Mayo and Chandler guard Gay. Mayo would embarrass Crawford if he tries to defend him and Duhon might be able to stay with him. Chandler is our most athletic player, besides Nate, and our best defender so he should be able to defend Gay well. I think we can win this game if we can hit our shots. I wouldn't be that surprised if we lose though, we haven't been playing well on the road.

Hey, that's D'Antoni for you. Rather than starting the most talented players, he starts the people that he personally likes the most. He originally wanted to bench Randolph and start Jeffries. The Knicks would be 2-5 right now, had he done that.

I've noticed that whenever Jamal gets into the paint, he just shoots these running jumpers. He should finish stronger, try to draw contact and get to the free throw line.

Seems like we're having trouble knocking down shots so far. Lets hope they start going down.

anyway, this will be a harder game than most think. Memphis are a young quick team, who have some outstanding future prospects in Mayo, Gay and Arthur.

Zbo has the bigger body and I'd expect him and Crawford to dominate.

The most interesting matchup is Arthur vs Chandler imo, two young guns of the comp

Give me the ball and i will show Crawful how to drive correctly...he's not used to being aggressive, he's too sensitive to be driving, piece of trash settling for jumpers-

my thoughts are changing a bit on crawford.

I think he'd be a great 6 man, ben gordon style.

He is a game winner, and I think he should come of the bench for quick offence, except I don't know who we could repace him with.

I doubt

duhon
qrich
chandler
lee
zbo

is a whole lot better
